Mumbai: In a landmark move for sports entertainment in India, Prime Video has unveiled the official logo for NBA on Prime, its flagship basketball coverage launching in October 2025. The announcement follows the historic 11-year global media rights agreement between Prime Video and the National Basketball Association (NBA), bringing the world’s premier basketball league to millions of Prime members across the globe — including India — at no additional cost.
The newly revealed logo offers the first look into the global branding of NBA on Prime, as Prime Video prepares to tip-off its extensive coverage of the NBA later this year. The offering marks a major leap in Prime Video’s live sports programming in India, where it already streams New Zealand Cricket matches.
As part of the partnership, Indian viewers will gain access to:
- 67 regular-season NBA games each year
- All seven Knockout Round games of the Emirates NBA Cup
- Full coverage of the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament
- First and second rounds of the NBA Playoffs
- Conference Finals in six of the eleven years of the deal
The collaboration is expected to transform basketball viewership in India by offering a more immersive and globally aligned viewing experience.
Earlier this year, Prime Video also revealed its elite studio lineup for NBA coverage, headlined by acclaimed sports journalist Taylor Rooks. Studio analysts include a stellar roster of NBA legends and Hall-of-Famers: Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, and Udonis Haslem. WNBA icon Candace Parker will also join the team as an in-game and studio analyst beginning this fall, and is set to lead WNBA coverage on Prime Video from 2026.
“NBA on Prime” will be complemented by NBA League Pass, the league’s subscription-based service for streaming live and on-demand games. Prime Video will serve as a strategic partner and the global third-party channel store for the service, allowing fans to unlock deeper access to NBA content for an additional cost.
In 2026, the partnership will extend to WNBA coverage, with Prime members in India gaining exclusive access to:
- 30 regular-season WNBA games
- Championship game of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup
- Exclusive postseason games, including one first-round series annually, seven Semi-Final series, and three WNBA Finals over the course of the deal.
The inclusion of the NBA and WNBA underlines Prime Video’s growing commitment to delivering world-class sports experiences to its global subscriber base. With the Indian sports audience becoming increasingly diverse and digitally engaged, NBA on Prime is poised to be a game-changer in how basketball is consumed in the country.
