Mumbai: Protean eGov Technologies Ltd. (formerly NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd.), an enabler of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and large-scale e-Governance solutions, has announced the appointment of Ranbheer Singh Dhariwal as Group Head – Social Security & Welfare (GH-SSW).
In his new capacity, Dhariwal will spearhead the company’s Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA) under the Social Security & Welfare vertical. He will take charge as CRA Head and Principal Officer under PFRDA regulations, with responsibilities including driving strategic growth, enhancing product development for schemes such as NPS, APY, and UPS, improving operational efficiencies, and ensuring end-to-end regulatory compliance.

Dhariwal was most recently the CEO of Max Life Pension Fund and brings over 25 years of experience spanning pension funds, insurance, and BPO services. His appointment comes at a time when Protean holds a dominant 98% market share in the CRA segment across NPS, APY, and UPS.
With India’s pension coverage still around ~3% of GDP, Dhariwal’s leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in driving both inclusion and innovation in the country’s retirement planning ecosystem.
