Mumbai: On the occasion of World Music Day, Radio City has announced the launch of its pioneering in-house music initiative — ‘Radio City Originals’, marking a new chapter in Indian audio entertainment. With this launch, Radio City becomes the first FM radio network in the country to create and release exclusive music tracks produced entirely in-house, celebrating talent across the nation’s musical spectrum.
The first track under Radio City Originals is set to release at 9:00 AM on June 21, 2025, across all major Hindi-speaking markets, signalling a shift from just playing music to creating it. The project brings together AI-powered production, hyperlocal narratives, and a platform for indie voices, firmly placing Radio City at the intersection of innovation and tradition.
To amplify the celebration, the network is hosting a special ‘A to Z of Indian Music Artists’ marathon — a full-day musical journey featuring iconic names from Bollywood, indie, folk, and contemporary scenes, along with rare tracks, fan favourites, exclusive interviews, and immersive RJ-led storytelling. Simultaneously, Sound of Mumbai will bring local voices and soundscapes from across the city to the airwaves, creating a dynamic urban musical experience.
Ashit Kukian, CEO of Radio City, said, “Radio City Originals is our pledge to nurturing India’s indie music scene by giving original voices the stage they deserve—on air, online, and everywhere in between. From AI-assisted production to multi-genre artist showcases, we’re pushing the envelope to create music that reflects modern India. Be it the gullies of Dharavi or digital dreams of a Gen Z singer-songwriter, we’re turning up the volume on talent that deserves to be heard.”
With Radio City Originals, the network reaffirms its role not just as a broadcaster but a cultural curator — delivering stories, rhythms, and voices that define India’s musical identity. This World Music Day 2025, listeners are invited to celebrate the sound of a billion dreams: One nation, countless sounds, one Radio City.
