Sara Ali Khan shines in Shopsy’s new campaign for Savvy Shoppers
Share Share ShareShare

Bengaluru: Shopsy, a hyper-value platform, has launched its campaign ‘Apna Swag, Bina Brand Tag’ with Sara Ali Khan, focusing on Bharat consumers seeking quality and style within their budget. The campaign challenges the notion that lower prices mean lower quality, positioning Shopsy as a destination offering top quality at lower prices without mark-ups.

In a viral clip, Sara Ali Khan’s airplane outfit mishap stirred social media. Speculation arose about its cost and potential damage. Unexpectedly, Sara later disclosed the unbranded, affordable origin from Shopsy, showcasing that chic, high-quality attire can be budget-friendly.

Shopsy’s recent campaign challenges the notion that high quality always means high prices. It appeals to value-conscious Bharat consumers who seek premium quality and style within their budget, avoiding unnecessary mark-ups. Through the ad, Shopsy positions itself as a destination where customers can enjoy top quality products at lower prices.

Commenting on the campaign, Prathyusha Agarwal, Business Head at Shopsy, said, “ As one of the country’s fastest-growing hypervalue platforms, at Shopsy we provide a unique opportunity to millions of Bharat e-shoppers to bridge the gap between their dreams and means.

The campaign ‘Apna Swag, Bina Brand Tag’ featuring Sara Ali Khan is crafted with a deep understanding of the customers’ needs that prioritizes affordability, quality, and trends. At Shopsy, we aim to bring the best quality at affordable prices. With the increasing popularity of online shopping in smaller cities, Shopsy is dedicated to improving accessibility and delivering unmatched value to Bharat.”

Expressing her excitement for the new campaign, Sara Ali Khan, said, “Being part of Shopsy’s campaigns is always a blast—they’re so fun and relatable! As someone who loves a good deal, Shopsy really hits home for me. This time around, it’s even more special because I got to be myself. It’s exciting to partner with a brand that exemplifies the perfect combination of quality and affordability. This campaign celebrates smart, value-conscious choices, and I’m sure customers will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed working on it.”

Deep Rooted Customer Understanding

Shopsy’s campaign ‘Apna Swag, Bina Brand Tag’ targets price-sensitive consumers looking for affordable and trendy products. Through consumer research, it was found that people equate high prices with quality. To address this, Shopsy showcases quality products at lower prices by collaborating with sellers on the platform. This strategy not only meets the needs of budget-conscious buyers but also sets a new standard by showing that quality and affordability can go hand in hand.

In 2024, 70% of Shopsy’s customers were from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities like Bhagalpur, Bankura, Kurnool, Nagaon, and Dhule. New customers, mostly millennials and Gen Z, accounted for 90% of the total. Orders mainly came from UP, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Bihar, with over 60% from tier-3+ cities. These consumers focus on value, shop strategically, and look for trendy, budget-friendly options for their families.

The campaign by 22 Feet shows an ad where an air hostess spills a drink on Sara Ali Khan’s outfit on an aircraft, leading passengers to offer their savings as they assume her attire is costly. Sara surprises them by revealing her unbranded outfit from Shopsy, emphasizing the high quality and affordability without extra mark-ups.

Brand ambassador Sara Ali Khan’s genuine representation in the ad resonates with the audience and supports Shopsy’s goal of offering top-notch goods at reasonable prices for Bharat.

The 360-degree campaign is set to launch across TV, print, social media, and digital platforms, aiming to bolster Shopsy’s brand presence and engagement.
