Mumbai: Sebamed has launched its ‘#SpotThe55’ campaign to celebrate May 5 (05.5) as ‘pH 5.5 Day’, aiming to build awareness around the importance of maintaining the skin’s natural pH balance for overall skin health.

As a pioneer in pH 5.5-based skin and hair care, Sebamed’s campaign highlights the scientific foundation of skin health, emphasising that the skin’s natural pH lies between 4.5 and 6.0—making it slightly acidic and essential for preserving the skin’s protective barrier and microbiome balance.

Designed to mirror the skin’s natural acid mantle, Sebamed’s pH 5.5 formulations are positioned to support healthy skin function while ensuring compatibility, particularly for sensitive skin. The initiative reinforces the brand’s focus on science-backed skincare solutions.

At the centre of the campaign is an interactive ‘#SpotThe55’ scavenger hunt, encouraging consumers to identify the number 5.5 in their daily lives—from running 5.5 km and spotting ₹550 bills to noticing digital clocks at 5:50 or tracking 5.5g nutritional values. These everyday discoveries have been compiled into a video-led campaign featuring real consumer stories and moments.

Built around the insight “We Couldn’t Stop Seeing 5.5,” the campaign nudges consumers to rethink their personal care choices and recognise the relevance of pH 5.5 in their routines.

To further amplify the campaign, Sebamed has partnered with lifestyle and mom influencers, who are encouraging audiences to ‘check the pH’ of their skincare products and make more informed, science-driven choices.

With this initiative, Sebamed continues to position itself as a science-led skincare brand, driving awareness around the role of pH balance in maintaining healthy skin.
