International: Grey Group China has appointed Sharlene Wu as the new Chief Executive Officer. She will lead Grey Advertising, as well as be responsible for the integration of Grey DPI, Grey Star Echo and Grey Easycom. She has filled the position left vacant by Jeff Kwek who left for family reasons.
Wu will be working closely with Nirvik Singh, Global COO and President of Grey Group and will lead Grey Advertising.
Prior to this, Wu was CEO of Proximity China, where she spent 13 years with the agency. She began her career in 2000 with WPP’s JWT Wings Taiwan and then Ogilvy. Following a short stint with JWT Shanghai in 2006, she then joined BBDO Shanghai as Business Director in 2007, which marked the beginning of her career with the Omnicom group. Wu was recognized for her success with a promotion to CEO of Proximity China in 2017.
Under Wu’s leadership, the agency won Gold at the 2019 Effie Awards Greater China and scored a Grand Prix at the Great Wall Awards.
