Chennai : The new daily soap Kula Deivam on Sun TV, which being aired in prime time band at 7:30 PM (Monday to Saturday) is likely to be replaced shortly.
Kula Deivam was launched on 11th May 2015 as a replacement for the most successful serial Nadaswaram, which ran for more than five years before concluding in its 1356th episode.
Kula Deivam was produced by Thiru Pictures, which is being owned by the Television Serial Director Thirumurugan, who was also the man behind the success of Metti Oli which was aired during 2002 to 2005 on Sun TV.
The Show has Veteran Actor and Directro T. S. B. K. Moulee playing an important role and along with him Vadivukkarasi and Srithika were also playing a lead role. Director Thirumurugan, who is known for his Middle Class Joint family subjects blended with high voltage human emotions, had ventured in to a contrasting subject in Kula Deivam that portrays the life of a rich industrialist with his disgruntled rich kids life style.
Market Sources confirm that the new show replacing Kula Deivam is expected to be launched in November month.
The 7:30 PM time band on Sun TV was delivering around an average TVR of 14 during Nadaswaram days in TAM ratings and used to give a tough fight for programmes in Super Prime Time Band, while Kula Deivam seems to be delivering around 11 TVR.
As of now, the Kula Deivam has complete 100 episodes only, whereas the Director and Producer Thiru Murugan has already started the pre production work for the replacement project. In fact, he has conducted an casting audition in a city based hotel last week, which has witnessed overwhelming participation of artists from Small Screen Industry.
Director Thirumurugan, who used to introduce some new faces in his projects, struck to the existing Small Screen artist based on the representation from Small screen artist union, which is fighting for ensuring equal opportunity for all its members.
Market Sources confirm that the show failed to meet the expectation of the channel and Director and hence they have mutually decided to go for the replacement.
