Ultra Media and Entertainment unveils 'Ultra Stories' to digitally revive Indian Folklore
Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: With summer vacations in full swing and children diving deep into digital content, Ultra Media and Entertainment Group is bringing a refreshing, culturally rich alternative to screens with the launch of ‘Ultra Stories’—a brand-new animated series that reimagines classic Indian folklore and mythology for today’s tech-savvy generation.

A trailblazer in India’s entertainment industry for over four decades, Ultra Media and Entertainment Group has built a formidable legacy in content creation, acquisition, and distribution across platforms. The introduction of Ultra Stories adds a new dimension to its already expansive digital ecosystem, which includes over 150 YouTube channels and three regional OTT platforms. Available on YouTube and Ultra Play, Ultra Stories strengthens the Group’s growing footprint in regional and family-friendly content.

More than just a new kids’ show, Ultra Stories serves as a digital time capsule, preserving India’s oral storytelling tradition through three engaging content categories—Lok Kathayein, Pauranik Kathayein, and Chamatkari Kathayein. With two new episodes released every week, the series offers a safe, entertaining, and meaningful viewing option for families looking to make screen time enriching.

“We wanted to bring the magic of Indian storytelling into the digital age. Our team deep-dived into books, folktales, and ancient scriptures to handpick the most exciting, value-driven stories that today’s kids will love, without the history lesson vibes. We hope to encourage readers to connect timeless lessons to their own lives for deeper understanding,” said Sushilkumar Agrawal, CEO of Ultra Media and Entertainment Group.

Ultra Stories opens with Bhakt Aur Shri Ram Ki Rasoi from the Pauranik Kathayein series, and will soon feature tales such as Ganga Maa Ki Utpati, Ganapati Aur Budhiya Amma, and Jab Hanuman ji ne Toda Ghamand. Stories like Chaturaai and Gandhari ka Shrap from Lok Kathayein, and magical narratives like Ajgar, Jaadui Dhol, Panchhi Bola Chaar Peher, and Darakht Rani from Chamatkari Kathayein will follow.

“We’re also leveraging AI tools in the creative process—from enhancing animation workflows to ensuring culturally accurate voiceovers and script adaptation. It’s our way of blending age-old storytelling traditions with cutting-edge technology to make Indian stories more accessible, immersive, and engaging for young, digital-native audiences,” said Rajat Agrawal, COO of Ultra Media and Entertainment Group.

“We know today’s kids swipe faster than they blink, so we crafted each episode to be visually stunning, snappy, and super engaging. Whether they’re watching on a phone, tablet, or smart TV—Ultra Stories will keep them hooked while making parents feel like they’ve won the ‘educational content’ battle,” added Brinda Agrawal, Chief Marketing Officer.

The series is currently available in Hindi and Marathi, with plans underway to expand to Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, and more—ensuring these timeless tales reach children in their mother tongues.

“This isn’t just about animated stories—it’s about keeping our cultural roots alive in a digital-first world,” added Brinda Agrawal. “Think of it as a bridge between grandmas’ bedtime tales and today’s touchscreen generation!”
