Mumbai: Utopai Studios has announced a major upgrade to its storytelling AI platform, PAI, introducing an industry-first capability to generate three-minute videos in 4K resolution along with an enhanced Story Agent designed to maintain continuity across scenes and edits. The updated platform will be available starting April 15.
The release marks a significant step forward in AI-driven filmmaking, expanding PAI’s capabilities across pre-production, production, and post-production workflows. Already being used in professional film and television productions in Hollywood, the platform is increasingly positioning itself as a tool for long-form storytelling at scale.
At the core of the update is PAI’s next-generation model, built to help filmmakers maintain visual consistency across characters, environments, and cinematography. The system enables creative teams to move more seamlessly from concept development to shot planning and iterative editing, supporting more structured and scalable narrative production.
With the addition of multi-shot sequencing and multi-turn editing, PAI evolves from a standalone filmmaking tool into a more unified production system. By integrating story development, generation, editing, and asset management into a single workflow, the platform aims to reduce friction and improve efficiency for both studios and independent creators.

“The next phase of AI in media will not be defined by isolated tools, but by systems that can carry story, continuity, and collaboration across the full creative process,” said Jie Yang, Co-Founder and CTO of Utopai Studios. “That is the direction we are building toward with PAI. The enhanced model is an important step toward giving filmmakers a more unified and practical way to develop, refine, and execute narrative work at a professional level.”

“Generative video is opening the door to a new production model, where creative ambition is less constrained by traditional cost and complexity,” said Zijian He, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Utopai Studios. “PAI is designed to help lead that shift by combining multimodal models and multi-turn editing in a way that gives creators more power to develop and execute sophisticated ideas with speed, control, and consistency.”
Designed for professional-scale production, PAI provides filmmakers with greater control, predictability, and flexibility across the creative process. The platform is also built with a focus on responsible AI development, with the company confirming that its models are not trained on copyrighted materials.
Across workflows, PAI is being deployed for rapid pre-visualisation during pre-production, enabling teams to align on camera language, scene design, and tone. In production and post-production, it supports the creation of complex shots, continuity adjustments, environment changes, lighting refinements, and localisation.
The April 15 update introduces additional features including improved voice variety, enhanced character likeness, unlimited editing, simplified pricing, and expanded controls—further strengthening PAI’s position as a comprehensive AI-powered storytelling solution for the global media and entertainment industry.
