Gurugram: Global sportswear giant adidas has announced the appointment of Vijay Chauhan as the new General Manager of adidas India, effective August 1, 2025. Chauhan will lead the brand’s operations across India and will be based out of the company’s Gurugram office.
Chauhan succeeds Neelendra Singh, who is stepping down after over two decades of remarkable leadership with adidas. Singh’s tenure was marked by significant milestones, including establishing cricket as a key focus category and redefining India’s cricket jersey culture—strengthening brand relevance and accelerating commercial growth. Singh will continue in his current role through July to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Chauhan, who returns to adidas from his most recent role as Senior Vice President – International at American Eagle Outfitters in New York, brings over 25 years of experience in the sporting goods and fashion lifestyle sectors. He first joined adidas in 1999 and held several strategic roles, including Vice President of Retail and Franchise for Southeast Asia Pacific and General Manager of adidas Thailand.
This leadership transition comes at a critical moment for adidas India as the brand continues to expand its market footprint and deepen consumer engagement in one of its most promising growth markets. Chauhan’s global expertise and deep familiarity with the adidas culture are expected to propel the next phase of growth for the brand in India.
