Gurgaon: One MobiKwik Systems Ltd., a digital wallet, has elevated Dhruv Wadhera as Chief Business Officer (CBO) – Offline Merchant Payments, alongside a series of leadership promotions across its business and governance functions as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.

Wadhera, who has led MobiKwik’s offline merchant payments business since 2023, has overseen significant growth in gross merchandise value (GMV) and revenues while expanding the company’s merchant offerings, including QR, Soundbox and EDC devices. In his new role as Chief Business Officer – Offline Merchant Payments, he will lead the company’s offline merchant expansion strategy across organised retail, oil and gas, general trade and devices, with a focus on merchant acquisition, operational efficiency, merchant retention and improving device economics.
Prior to joining MobiKwik, Wadhera served as Vice President and Sales Director at Zomato.
The company also announced the promotion of Abhishek Mukherji to Senior Vice President – Bharat Connect (Recharges & Bill Payments) & Online Merchant Payments. In addition to continuing to lead the recharge and bill payments business, Mukherji will now head Zaakpay, MobiKwik’s payment gateway business, with the objective of scaling the online merchant payments business tenfold by FY28. He brings over 24 years of experience in the payments industry, having previously held leadership roles at PayU and Airtel Payments Bank.
Meanwhile, Saurabh Taneja has been elevated to Senior Vice President, Governance, where he will oversee regulatory compliance, company secretarial and legal affairs. Taneja, who has over 18 years of experience across corporate and regulatory affairs, has previously worked with Headout, Zomato and MakeMyTrip.

Commenting on the leadership appointments, Bipin Preet Singh, Co-founder, MD & CEO, MobiKwik, said, “Following a strong year for MobiKwik, we are entering our next phase of growth with a clear focus on expanding our merchant ecosystem, strengthening our institutional capabilities, and building new growth engines across our businesses. As we scale, it is important that leadership grows from within. Dhruv, Abhishek & Saurabh have each played an important role in our journey and have consistently demonstrated the ability to build, lead and deliver results. Their deep understanding of our business, culture and long-term vision positions them well to take on larger responsibilities. I am confident that their leadership will help us execute with greater speed, strengthen our market position, and create long-term value for customers, partners and shareholders.”
The leadership elevations build on a series of organisational initiatives undertaken by the fintech company over the past year, including the appointment of a Chief Risk Officer, a dedicated Head of Governance and the formation of a board comprising 63% independent directors.
