With the advent of 5G in the coming year, data will be faster than ever and web will be back in the game

In the last 10 years, we have witnessed a remarkable, in fact, a hyper evolution in mobile space. We saw the transition from laptops to mobile, walked through the journey of the ‘mostly web’ to ‘mostly apps’ era, riding on the technology revolution from 2G to 4G and now 5G.

The tide is turning again with an onset of 5G, and Wave is preparing to lead the surfing on this technology tide.

Wave, a mobile-first browser, was conceived and built to get rid of various problems in the existing environment and we have successfully come a long way of inventing and reinventing the browsing experience for our GenNext. With cutting-edge features like Chat as you browse, Ad-Free browsing, WebApps Store, Personalization of news and search engine options, Wave is already becoming a go-to browser for mobile-first users.

With the spirit of innovation, we at Wave are striding through this pandemic year and preparing to bring much-needed relief to users with focus on some exciting areas.

Privacy: At Wave, we all are already committed to user privacy as we don’t store any of the user data. But now we are preparing to make privacy a reality by bringing some innovative features that will give full control to users about who can access their data and who can even know where they are surfing on the web. Data Privacy is considered a theoretical subject today as it is breached 100s of times every day – we say a big NO to it, and will change things for good.

Mobile-First Experience: All the popular browsers are simply an adoption of their desktop versions to a vertical screen of phone. Wave is focusing on this aspect as it stands at the heart of our product, in fact forms the genetics of our app as we design everything from a mobile-first perspective, afresh. Users can expect some exciting fresh designs with cool navigation that will go with one hand users typical of mobile environments.

Socialise on Web: Wave is already a first mover in this direction where we brought in the world’s first Chat on Web experience, where users can watch videos or live match or shop on a website or read articles – while chatting on top of that content. That’s very efficient as users don’t have to pause the videos or leave the web session when they get messages from friends and need to reply. They can share all the designer clothes or shopping items with one click and move on with their shopping, without switching apps or leaving their session. We plan to bring more features in the social direction.

Web and Not Apps: With the advent of 5G in the coming year, data will be faster than ever and web will be back in the game. Imagine that you can access everything that you access through apps today, right on Wave with a superb experience with fast loading like an app and ad free! Even today, Wave provides WebApps and users can customize them at home. In the coming year, we plan to expand this further as per user’s choices and cover almost everything in our web-store

Make what users want: With a growing user base and an astonishingly high time spent of upward to 30 mins/day by power users of Wave, we believe that our efforts are well cherished by our early adopters. We would like to make more efforts to understand the growing needs of our target users through a vast network of college students enrolled in our ambassador programs across 100+ colleges in 30+ cities pan India. We are committed to build a product in a democratic way, for India and take it to the world!
