Mumbai: Zee Cinema will premiere Khaki Aur Khiladi on Wednesday, 13th December 2017 at 8PM. A light-hearted romance marking Neil Nitin Mukesh’s (Chirag) debut as a villain, and directed by AR Murugadoss, Khaki Aur Khiladi puts the spotlight on hard hitting issues prevalent in India like drought and the plight of farmers. Featuring a double dose of south super-star Vijay as he dons a double role, Khaki Aur Khiladi will make for an action packed viewing experience for the entire family.
Khaki Aur Khiladi is the story of a prisoner named Kathiresan aka Kathir (Vijay), a petty criminal who escapes from jail with the intent to travel to Bangkok. However, he drops the plan after crossing paths with Ankitha (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), at the airport, with whom he falls deeply in love. Kathir, along with Ravi (Sathish), witness Kathir’s doppelganger named Jeevanandam ‘Jeeva’ (Vijay) being shot by a group of thugs. To escape from the police, Kathir takes on Jeevanandam’s spot after admitting him to a hospital. As he starts his life afresh, Kathir realizes that Jeeva had discovered groundwater in some parts of Thanoothu in Tirunelveli district. But, an MNC owned by Chirag (Neil Nitin Mukesh) tricked the residents of Thanoothu into giving up their land for the construction of a factory.
The plight of the farmers at being cheated out of their lands and lives, push Kathir to fight for them, thereby forcing him to change his ways to adopt a new lifestyle. He, along with Ravi, and his lady love Ankitha decide to rescue Thanoothu’s people from Chirag’s evil ploys, but Chirag’s goons foil every plan that Kathir has formulated.
Will Kathir be able to win the battle against Chirag or will Jeeva return to reveal Kathir’s true identity?
