New Delhi: The Honourable Madras High Court, today allowed All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF), to intervene in W.P. Nos. 44126 of and 44127 of 2016 in Star TV and Vijay TV vs UOI and ors matters.
The case was listed as item 3 at 4 pm list. Senior Counsels, Mr Ar L.Sundaresan and Mr Navin Chawla appeared for AIDCF. On hearing submissions of the counsels, the Hon’ble Bench was pleased to permit AIDCF to participate in the proceedings as intervener.
The Bench has also permitted AIDCF to file all relevant material, make oral submissions and file written submissions in the main writ petition. The Bench had informed the counsel for the applicants in the impleadment application to make necessary endorsements to the effect that AIDCF may be made as an intervener, subject to permitting us to file documents, make oral submissions etc.
Mr TS Panesar – President AIDCF, welcomed this move and said, “We are delighted to note the decision of Hon’ble Madras High Court in recognizing us as an important stake holder in this matter.”
The matter is next listed on 7th March,2017 and is likely to continue on another date for further submissions.
