Inaugural edition in Bengaluru on 15th July will delve into the future of branding, news, entertainment, advertising, commerce and consumption.

According to a report by Dalberg Research, the average time Indian citizens spend consuming news content is forecast to increase from 44 minutes per day in 2020 to 49 minutes per day in 2026. With digital news penetration growing by leaps and bounds, established media houses are diversifying and reinventing their content strategies.

Similarly, commerce and consumption in the country is also witnessing a sea change in the past few years. With online shopping and e-commerce including social commerce, brands are heavily investing in video, live shopping and related technologies.

Entertainment now has more than two avatars – entertainment for private consumption on the personal computing device and shared consumption, be it in cinemas or on the home television. The good news is that while the former has seen a meteoric rise, the latter is growing too. But what does the future hold?

In the given context, Medianews4u.com presents the first edition of FutureScope Conclave, a day-long event which is being curated as a thought leadership forum that will delve into data, perspectives, and insights, to analyse today’s trends shaping the future of consumption and branding, news, advertising, and entertainment.

The inaugural keynote of FutureScope 2022 will be delivered by Harish Bijoor, Brand Guru & Founder, Harish Bijoor Consults Inc on the theme, ‘Building the Indian Corporate Brand of the Future’.

This will be followed by a session on ‘The Future of News’ featuring Ranjeet Kate, CEO, Vijay Karnataka and Bangalore Mirror; Vignesh Vellore, Chief Executive Officer, The News Minute; , Deepak Saluja, Director, The Times of India; Sudipto Chowdhuri, Chief Revenue Officer, India TV; and Sridharan Ramakrishnan, Managing Editor, TV9 Kannada as panelists. The session will be moderated by Gokul Krishnamoorthy, independent content consultant and marketing columnist, and Consulting Editor, MediaNews4u.com.

The conclave will also feature a panel discussion on ‘The Future of Commerce & Consumption’ moderated by  Mandeep Malhotra, Chief Growth Strategist, Shrishti Media & Investments. The panelists are Chandru Kalro, Managing Director, TTK Prestige; Geeta Lobo, Chief Client Officer, Ipsos India; Smita Murarka, CMO, Duroflex; Rishi Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Zolo; and Anshul Sharan, Co-Founder & CEO, Elever.

Lakshmipathy Bhat, Senior VP, Global Marketing &​ Communications, Robosoft Technologies, will moderate a panel discussion on the topic ‘The Future of Advertising’.The panelists for the session include Kaustav Das, Chief Executive Officer, Ralph&Das, Nagaraj Krishnamurthy, Chief Strategy Officer and Analytics Head, Madison India; Parthasarathy Mandayam, Chief Strategy Officer, GroupM South Asia; and Priyanka Borah, Founding Partner, Talented.

The other speakers include Parag Kulkarni, Managing Director, A.O.Smith India (The Future of Commerce and Consumption) ; Dr Bhaskar Das, Director – Content, Yunometa Pte Ltd. and Professor & Mentor, Centre for Media and Entertainment Studies, MICA (The Future of Entertainment); and Dr P Sadananda Maiya,Director, Maiyas Restaurants (Reinventing a Legacy Brand for the Future).

The FutureScope Conclave will be hosted at The Taj MG Road, Bengaluru from 10 am. Entry is free but restricted to pre-registered guests.
