Amazon Prime Video and NBA Ink 11-Year Global Media Deal Starting 2025

Prime Video acquires exclusive U.S. national and international rights for coverage of 66 regular season NBA games; the Emirates NBA Cup; the entire postseason SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament; approximately one-third of the first and second rounds of the NBA Playoffs; plus Conference Finals in six out of 11 years

Amazon Prime Video and NBA Ink 11-Year Global Media Deal Starting 2025

CULVER CITY, California: Amazon Prime Video and the NBA struck an 11-year deal starting in the 2025-26 season. Prime Video will exclusively air 66 regular-season NBA games globally, featuring an opening week doubleheader, a Black Friday game, and all Knockout Rounds of the Emirates NBA Cup, including Semifinals and Finals.

Prime Video secured exclusive coverage rights for the entire postseason SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament, first and second-round playoff games, and Conference Finals for six out of 11 years. The coverage will be available in the U.S. and internationally, with extra games in select territories like Mexico, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. This extended offering includes at least 20 additional primetime regular season games annually, one Conference Finals series each year, and NBA Finals coverage for six of the 11 years.

Under the deal, Prime Video Channels becomes the exclusive partner for NBA League Pass, the NBA’s streaming service, in the U.S. and globally. Another statement covers details of the new WNBA agreement with Prime Video.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said, “The digital opportunities with Amazon align perfectly with the global interest in the NBA. And Prime Video’s massive subscriber base will dramatically expand our ability to reach our fans in new and innovative ways.”

We are grateful to partner with the NBA, and can’t wait to tip-off in 2025.”

Prime Video’s NBA coverage starts in 2025-26, featuring Friday and Thursday games, halftime shows and more, following their Thursday Night Football schedule. They will also stream NBA Summer League, WNBA, and NBA G League games. Talent and production details will be shared later.

The international live game package rights cover the world, except for certain countries, adding Canada from the 2026-27 NBA season.

Over the past three years, Prime Video has become a top global live sports provider featuring marquee events like NFL, WNBA, NASCAR, and NWSL in the U.S., NHL in Canada, UEFA Champions League soccer in the U.K., Germany, and Italy, Premier League soccer in the U.K. and Sweden, Roland Garros tennis in France, and Wimbledon in Germany and Austria, for 2024 and 2025.
