Akasa Air appoints Naarayan T V as Chief Marketing Officer

Mumbai: Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has announced the appointment of Mr. Naarayan T V as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective August 29, 2025. In his new role, Naarayan will be responsible for leading the airline’s marketing, corporate communications & ESG, customer experience, eCommerce, customer loyalty, and partnerships functions. He will also be a part of Akasa’s Executive Committee, contributing to strategic decision-making at the leadership level.

The appointment comes at a crucial juncture in Akasa Air’s growth journey, as the airline ramps up efforts to strengthen its brand and customer proposition, aiming to become one of the top 30 airlines globally by the end of the decade.

Naarayan brings over two decades of cross-industry experience spanning eCommerce, fintech, banking, D2C broking, and global consumer brands. Known for his strategic vision and digital-first approach, he has consistently led transformation initiatives across marketing communication, digital marketing, product design, user experience, sponsorships, brand building, creative strategy, and large-scale product launch campaigns.

Commenting on the appointment, Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, Akasa Air, said, “At Akasa Air, we are committed to building a world-class airline powered by our value-driven and service-oriented culture. Naarayan brings with him a global perspective, proven expertise in transforming brands, and the ability to blend creativity with data-driven insights. His leadership will play an instrumental role in shaping Akasa’s next phase of growth.”

In his previous roles, Naarayan has made a significant impact. At IDFC FIRST Bank, he led brand development initiatives that included strategic sponsorships, product launches, and high-impact properties. At PayPal India, he drove the company’s first integrated brand launch campaign and created a merchant acquisition model that scaled tenfold in its first year. Recognised as one of India’s leading CMOs, Naarayan has won numerous accolades, including the DMA Asia Trail Blazer Award in 2023.

Sharing his enthusiasm for the new role, Naarayan T V, Chief Marketing Officer, Akasa Air, said, “I believe great marketing is a perfect blend of art and science, and I am deeply passionate about building customer-first brands and great teams.
