Bengaluru: Citi India has announced the appointment of Srini Kannan as the Head of Digital, Technology, Communication, Business & Professional Services, and Industrials for Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) in India, effective early December 2025.
In his new role, Srini will be responsible for driving Citi Commercial Bank’s market presence in India across these key industries. He will focus on leveraging Citi’s expansive global network, spanning more than 94 countries, and act as a strategic advisor to CCB’s clients in India. Srini will also work towards unlocking investment banking opportunities and support the execution of the bank’s industry coverage strategy to optimize wallet share and returns.

Srini brings extensive experience across Equity, Debt, M&A, Financing, Risk Management, and Payments. Until recently, he served as the Head of Innovation Economy and Venture Capital (VC) Coverage in India at JPMorgan, leading a team focused on founder-led or VC-backed high-growth companies. Earlier, he played a pivotal role in building JPMorgan’s mid-corporate business in South India, making it the largest market within the country.
Srini’s association with Citi dates back to 2002 when he began his banking career with the Corporate Banking team, managing business in the Chennai and Coimbatore markets. Over a decade, beginning in 2009, he covered several key sectors within Corporate Banking, including Diversified Industries, Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Consumer and Healthcare, and the Financial Institutions Group, managing significant conglomerate relationships.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Srini holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Madras.
