Bengaluru: Rapido has announced the official launch of its standalone food delivery app, Ownly, across Bengaluru, marking its entry into India’s competitive online food delivery market with a zero-commission, price-honest model.
Positioned as a transparent alternative in a sector often criticised for inflated menu pricing and layered platform charges, Ownly does not levy commission on restaurants. Instead, it applies a straightforward delivery fee to consumers, designed to reflect the actual cost of logistics. The company said the model enables restaurants to maintain everyday low prices without depending on deep discounting or hidden mark-ups.
Central to the launch is a high-decibel Digital Video Commercial set in a courtroom, using satire to spotlight industry concerns such as hidden fees, misleading discounts and price inflation. The film presents Ownly’s “Food promise” as a commitment to transparency and trust, and is currently live on Ownly’s YouTube channel.

Commenting on the city-wide launch, Aravind Sanka, Founder – Rapido and Ownly said, “Indian consumer habits are changing rapidly. Food ordering has become an integral part of everyday life across India, not just in metros but in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities as well. At Ownly, we see a strong opportunity to build a restaurant-first model that supports small and big partners to cater to the evolving needs of their customers. We believe that transparency, honesty and fairness are key drivers of long term growth for the sector and hope that Ownly can enable more people to enjoy the convenience of ordering in.”
The Bengaluru rollout follows a pilot phase across Koramangala, HSR Layout and BTM Layout, where the company conducted extensive consumer research and worked closely with restaurant partners to refine the offering.
As a new service under the Rapido umbrella, Ownly builds on the parent brand’s focus on affordability, convenience and transparency. The platform also plans to leverage Rapido’s hyperlocal logistics network to scale operations and drive increased competition within the food delivery ecosystem.
