Mumbai: dentsu Vietnam has appointed Amit Thakur as its Chief Executive Officer, Media, strengthening its leadership team as the agency network continues to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.
Thakur, a seasoned media and marketing executive with more than two decades of industry experience, joins dentsu Vietnam after serving as Managing Partner at WPP Media. His career spans multiple markets across India and Southeast Asia, where he has played key roles in driving brand growth, business transformation, and market expansion.
Before his latest appointment, Thakur held leadership positions at several global and regional organizations, including Unilever, Nestlé, Kimberly-Clark, Tata Group, and Mindshare. Over the years, he has built a reputation for leading businesses in complex, multi-market environments and helping brands scale across diverse consumer segments.
Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Thakur revealed that he is already three months into his new role. Reflecting on the transition, he described the period as one of intensive learning and collaboration.
“The past few months have been a period of deep learning—immersing myself and working alongside an energized team, and partnering with clients who are helping shape the future of marketing and growth in this market,” he wrote.
His appointment comes at a time when Vietnam’s advertising and media landscape is witnessing rapid digital transformation, increasing demand for data-driven marketing solutions, and growing investments in consumer engagement across platforms.
With extensive experience across media, marketing, and business leadership, Thakur is expected to play a key role in advancing dentsu Vietnam’s growth strategy and strengthening client partnerships in the region.
