Mumbai: The Premier League has appointed Abhinav Sharma as Head of Marketing & Events for India, based out of its newly established Mumbai office. India marks the third dedicated market presence for the league globally, after New York City and Beijing.
Sharma is a marketing professional with over 13 years of experience across electric mobility, automotive, alcobev, and retail. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Bengaluru-based EV startup Ultraviolette Automotive, where he was part of the team that expanded the brand from a single city to 40+ cities and 10+ countries, including key European markets such as France, Italy, Germany, and the UK.
Prior to that, he served as Category Head for Sport and Electric at Bajaj Auto, overseeing the Pulsar, Avenger, and Chetak Electric brands. Before Bajaj, he was at Pernod Ricard India, where he handled growth brands including Jameson, Gins, and Cognac, before taking P&L ownership of the Chivas Scotch portfolio — the largest contributor to the company’s international business in India. He began his career at adidas India, leading brand marketing for the Running division and managing retail activation across the country.
His portfolio across his career has included storied names such as Titan, TAG Heuer, adidas, Chivas, and Bajaj Pulsar. Sharma is a graduate of the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad.
In his new role, Sharma will lead brand and fan engagement initiatives for the Premier League in India.
