Adobe expands Firefly’s Generative AI Capabilities with Industry’s First Commercially Safe AI Video Model
Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: Adobe has unveiled the new Firefly application, an all-in-one professional destination for generative AI-powered content creation, integrating images, vectors, and videos. The launch includes the Firefly Video Model, now available in public beta, making it the industry’s first commercially safe AI video generation model that enables brands and creative professionals to confidently create production-ready content.

This latest innovation strengthens Firefly’s position as a leader in generative AI, offering unmatched creative control and seamless integration with Adobe’s industry-leading Creative Cloud applications. With over 18 billion assets generated globally, Firefly has evolved from an AI-powered image tool to a comprehensive suite empowering creative teams with multimodal workflows.

Next-Gen Generative AI for Creative Professionals

The Firefly Video Model, powering Generate Video (beta) in the Firefly app and Generative Extend (beta) in Adobe Premiere Pro, allows professionals to create high-quality, IP-friendly video content directly from text prompts and images. The model supports 1080p resolution, with 4K capabilities planned for future updates.

“Firefly is designed for creative professionals looking for unmatched creative control and IP-friendly tools that can be used safely and effectively in both ideation and production,” said David Wadhwani, President of Adobe’s Digital Media Business. “We’ve been thrilled to hear from beta customers who’ve found it a game-changer for ideating concepts and producing stunning videos, and we can’t wait to see how the creative community uses it to bring their stories to the world.”

Powerful New Features in Firefly

With Firefly’s expanded capabilities, users can:

  • Generate Video (beta) – Create stunning video clips, animations, b-roll, and motion graphics from simple text prompts. Users can fine-tune shots using professional camera angles, dynamic movement, and motion paths.
  • Scene to Image (beta) – Convert 3D sketches into high-resolution images with intuitive controls for angles, lighting, and structural precision.
  • Translate Audio and Video – Generate multilingual voiceovers and subtitles while maintaining an authentic tone and cadence, supporting over 20 languages for global reach.
  • Seamless Integration – Firefly connects with Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Express, and more, allowing creators to transition effortlessly from ideation to production.

Global Enterprises Choose Firefly for Scalable Content Creation

Leading brands and agencies—including Deloitte Digital, dentsu, IBM, IPG Health, Mattel, PepsiCo/Gatorade, Stagwell, and Tapestry—are leveraging Firefly’s capabilities to accelerate creative workflows, enhance efficiency, and maintain brand consistency at scale.

James Thomas, Global Chief Technology Officer, dentsu, remarked, “Firefly’s creator-friendly approach to AI has been instrumental in enhancing our creative process, allowing us to bring to life high-quality ideas & visuals at scale, more efficiently and in less time. Our creatives have been testing and providing valuable feedback, helping to steer the roadmap and building proprietary product solutions and custom workflows for our clients. From proof of concept to storyboarding and beyond, Firefly is accelerating creative development while ensuring commercially safe results. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see how tools like Firefly will continue to push creative boundaries and empower our teams.”

Merrill Raman, Global Chief Technology Officer, Stagwell, added: “Adobe Firefly is not just an agency tool, it’s a force multiplier. Firefly empowers our teams to innovate fearlessly within established brand guidelines, maximizing the impact of our client campaigns.”

New Firefly Subscription Plans

To provide flexible access to its AI-powered features, Adobe has launched two new Firefly subscription plans:

  • Firefly Standard: Priced at INR 797 per month ($9.99 USD), offering 2,000 video/audio credits and up to 20 five-second 1080p video generations per month.
  • Firefly Pro: Priced at INR 2,394 per month ($29.99 USD), with 7,000 video/audio credits and up to 70 five-second 1080p video generations per month.

A Firefly Premium plan designed for high-volume content creators and teams will be launched soon.

Adobe’s Commitment to Ethical AI

Adobe remains committed to responsible AI development, ensuring Firefly is trained exclusively on content that Adobe has explicit permission to use, including licensed Adobe Stock assets and public domain content. Additionally, Firefly Video Model outputs will include Content Credentials, providing transparency by indicating that AI was used in content creation.

With Firefly’s new AI-powered video generation tools, Adobe continues to shape the future of creative production—empowering professionals, brands, and agencies with scalable, safe, and cutting-edge generative AI solutions.
