Mumbai: The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced that Andy Jassy, President and CEO of Amazon, will receive the prestigious 2025 Media Person of the Year Award, recognising his transformative impact on the global media and creative communications industry.
This annual accolade is awarded to individuals who have not only demonstrated excellence in media but have also led with vision, creativity, and innovation, significantly influencing the shape and future of the global media landscape. Under Jassy’s leadership, Amazon has emerged as a dominant and pioneering media platform, redefining the intersection of commerce, content, and consumer engagement.

Jassy joins a prestigious list of past recipients that includes Salar Kamangar (YouTube), Jack Dorsey (Twitter), Eric Schmidt (Google), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), and Steve Ballmer (Microsoft).
As part of the honour, Andy Jassy will appear on stage at the Debussy Theatre on Wednesday, 18 June for a special fireside chat, before receiving the Media Person of the Year Award during the official Cannes Lions Awards Show later that evening.
