Chennai: Anantham, a Tamil Original series has been streaming on ZEE5 since 22nd April.
An estranged Son (Ananth) who returns to his family home(Anantham) goes on a journey down memory lane to find the stories of the wonder, betrayal, success, love, laughter, horror, & courage of the different people who lived in Anantham from 1964 – 2015.
The series is produced by V Muraliraaman. Priya V has directed the series, and the cinematography was done by Bagath. The screenplay was written by Priya V, Rakav Mirdath, Preetha Jayaraman, and Reena Ravichander. AS Ram has given music to the lyrics of Mahakavi Subramania Bharathi. Surya Rajeevan is behind the art team of Anantham, and the series is edited by Sathish Surya.
The series unveil with the first episode about a successful writer Ananth in 2015, who unwillingly revisits his family home and an estranged father Venkatesan and dives into the past to learn about the journey of a young Venkatesan and his beloved wife Maragatham in their magical family home named ‘Anantham.’ In the second episode Ananth learns the story of a visually impaired woman, Seetha and her husband Sundar set in 1971. The story revolves around Seetha and her friendship with 7 year old Balu and how that friendship leads to the destruction of her life.
The third episode titled Rekha, set in 1975 brings to light the life of a struggling IIT graduate, Sandeep Sekar, a happy go lucky wife, Rekha and their two beautiful children. The fourth episode, Ananth, set in the year 1985, is about a young Ananth who experiences love for the first time which will change his life forever. The fifth episode, set in 1990, is about three beautiful women (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Vinodhini, Ananya) living in Anatham who go through a ride of laughter and love as they welcome a new paying guest, Krishnan Menon into their home.
The sixth episode set in 1995, shows whether tenants Lalitha and Balu have a peaceful stay at Anantham or will the past come back to haunt them? The seventh episode is about Ananth meeting a young Psycotherapist, Parvathy who goes on to tell him about her painful journey and how she broke her barriers and embraced her true potential during her time at Anantham between 1996 and 2005. Finally the eight episode revolves around Venkatesan returning home to spend his remaining days at Anantham. As the end of his time is approaching, would he reconcile with his son and embrace peace?
The show stars Prakash Raj, Sampath, John Vijay, Vivek Rajgopal, Samyuktha, Vinoth Kishan, Ananth Nag, Indraja, Vivek Prassana, Mekha Rajan, Vinodhini, Anjali Rao, Madhuri and Aravinth Sundar etc.
