Mumbai: Ashok Ramachandran has joined Suzlon Group as CEO – India Business.
Ramachandran joins Suzlon after a successful tenure with Vietnam-based REE Corporation, one of Southeast Asia’s leading energy and infrastructure companies. His appointment comes at a time when India’s energy transition is gathering momentum, with increasing investments in renewable energy and a growing focus on sustainable power generation.
Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Ramachandran said, “After an intense, enriching and high-impact journey in Vietnam with REE Corporation, I am excited to share that I will be returning to India to join Suzlon Group as CEO – India Business.
My stint at REE Corporation has been one of the most transformative chapters of my career. Leading and working within one of Southeast Asia’s most respected energy and infrastructure groups gave me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of integrated energy businesses and also helping me evolve as a person while also experiencing the dynamism, resilience and ambition of Vietnam firsthand.”
In his new role, Ramachandran will lead Suzlon’s India business operations, focusing on strengthening market leadership, enhancing customer engagement, driving operational excellence, and scaling growth initiatives across the company’s renewable energy portfolio.
Speaking about the opportunity ahead, he added, “As I return to India, I feel both excited and humbled by the opportunity ahead. To lead the India business of a multi billion-dollar renewable energy and India’s No 1 Wind Turbine Manufacturer like Suzlon, at a time when India’s energy transition is accelerating rapidly, is a tremendous responsibility and privilege.

A seasoned business leader, Ramachandran brings extensive experience across the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. Prior to REE Corporation, he held leadership roles at several prominent organizations, including JSW Energy, Schindler India, Jardine Schindler Group, Schindler Lifts Australia Pty Limited, and Moran Furniture Pty Ltd.
He began his professional career as an Operations Engineer at Moran Furniture Pty Ltd in 2005 and has since built expertise across change management, operations management, project planning, business strategy, manufacturing, budgeting, and business transformation.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen Suzlon’s leadership capabilities as the company continues to expand its footprint in India’s renewable energy market and support the country’s clean energy ambitions.
With decades of experience across international markets and diverse industries, Ramachandran’s leadership is expected to play a key role in driving Suzlon’s next phase of growth while reinforcing its position as a leading player in India’s renewable energy sector.
