BARC Week 45: South channels remain intact without any significant changes in pecking order

BARC India released its Week 45 data for South GEC markets including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam. The positions in the top five list changed for some GEC markets.

Tamil (Tamil Nadu/Pondicherry)

In the Tamil speaking market, the positions in the chart remained same compared to last week. Sun TV continued its lead with 2240.72 (000) AMA followed by Star Vijay with 1442.69 (000) AMA at 2nd spot and Zee Tamil at 3rd spot with 872.02 (000) AMA. KTV retained its 4th spot with 778.37 (000) AMA followed by Star Vijay Super with 373.3 (000) AMA at 5th spot.

Kannada (Karnataka)

In the Kannada speaking market, the positions in the chart remained same compared to last week. Zee Kannada continued its lead with 1441.66 (000) AMA followed by Colors Kannada with 859.98 (000) AMA at 2nd spot and Udaya TV at 3rd spot with 518.68 (000) AMA. Star Suvarna retained its 4th spot with 477.28 (000) AMA followed by Udaya Movies at 5th spot with 360.02 (000) AMA.

Malayalam (Kerala)

Among the Malayalam speaking market, the top three positions in the chart remained same compared to last week. Asianet continued its lead with 710.84 (000) AMA followed by Flowers TV at 2nd spot with 186.79 (000) AMA and Mazhavil Manorama at 3rd spot with 176.34 (000) AMA. Asianet Movies entered the chart with 160.97 (000) AMA and claimed the 4th spot. Zee Keralam slipped one spot down and stood at 5th position with 151.48 (000) AMA.

Telugu (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana)

In the Telugu speaking market, the top four positions in the chart remained same compared to last week. Star Maa continued its lead with 2086.59 (000) AMA followed by Zee Telugu at 2nd spot with 1254.1 (000) AMA and ETV Telugu with 904.17 (000) AMA at 3rd spot. Gemini TV retained its 4th spot with 582.14 (000) AMA. Star Maa Movies entered the chart with 540.24 (000) AMA and claimed the 5th spot.
