New York: DoubleVerify has announced the launch of AI-powered pre-screen content controls on Meta Threads feed, enabling advertisers to avoid unsuitable content before advertisements are served.
The new offering is designed to give advertisers greater control over content alignment while enhancing brand protection and campaign effectiveness on Threads.
The launch builds on DoubleVerify’s October 2025 rollout of post-bid brand suitability measurement capabilities across Threads. With the addition of pre-screen controls, advertisers can now access an end-to-end media quality framework combining both proactive content filtering and post-campaign transparency.
According to the company, the pre-screen controls evaluate content before ad impressions are transacted, helping advertisers avoid placements that do not meet their brand suitability thresholds. The post-bid measurement layer then provides insights into where advertisements appeared and how closely placements aligned with brand expectations.

Commenting on the development, Mark Zagorski, CEO of DoubleVerify, said, “Advertisers expect more control over the environments where their advertising appears. With AI-powered content-level controls on Threads, we’re helping brands better align ads with content that meets their standards while driving stronger performance and measurable outcomes.”
The new controls automatically identify and avoid content that falls below DoubleVerify’s Brand Risk Floor and Brand Suitability Tiers. The company has also introduced 30 additional content-level avoidance categories — including Youth Entertainment and Gambling — enabling advertisers to exercise more granular control over content adjacency beyond standard suitability settings.
DoubleVerify stated that the controls are refreshed automatically every hour, allowing advertisers to maintain continuous protection as content on the platform evolves.
The solution is powered by DV Universal Content Intelligence™, DoubleVerify’s AI-driven classification engine that analyses text, image, video, and audio signals to classify content across digital environments at scale.
For video content specifically, the system reviews content frame by frame using advanced key-frame extraction technology to eliminate redundant visual elements while maintaining classification accuracy and efficiency.
The company added that its brand suitability offerings form part of the broader DV Media AdVantage Platform, which combines media verification, campaign performance optimisation, and outcomes measurement to improve media effectiveness and return on advertising spend.
