Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed its highly anticipated Hyundai CRETA Electric, marking a pivotal moment in India’s electric mobility journey. With its bold design, cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled sustainability features, the CRETA Electric aims to redefine the Indian SUV landscape while championing Hyundai’s global theme, “Progress for Humanity.”

The announcement was accompanied by an engaging TVC titled “India is now Ready; Electric is now CRETA”, emphasizing the country’s readiness for electric mobility and the CRETA Electric’s potential to set new benchmarks in the EV market.

Speaking at the launch, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, said: “The Hyundai CRETA Electric marks a significant milestone for HMIL as our first localized electric SUV. Hyundai Motor Company has established itself as a pioneer in EV innovation with revolutionary and award-winning EVs like IONIQ, and the Hyundai CRETA Electric is no different. Continuing the strong legacy of the CRETA brand, the Hyundai CRETA Electric combines design, technology, and exceptional safety to inspire confidence in electric vehicles among Indian customers. With the addition of this electric powertrain, we now have a CRETA for everyone. We are confident that the Hyundai CRETA Electric will set a new standard in quality for electric SUVs in India and will redefine the success of EVs in the country.”

The CRETA Electric embodies bold SUV aesthetics with futuristic EV elements inspired by Hyundai’s global Pixel design language, including:

  • Pixelated Graphic Front Grille with integrated charging port.
  • Active Air Flaps (AAF) for improved cooling and aerodynamics.
  • R17 Aero Alloy Wheels paired with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tyres for enhanced efficiency.

The CRETA Electric delivers thrilling acceleration, going from 0-100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds (Long Range model). It offers two battery pack options:

  • 51.4 kWh (Long Range) with a driving range of 473 km per charge.
  • 42 kWh with a driving range of 390 km per charge.

Rapid DC charging enables a 10%-80% charge in just 58 minutes, while AC home charging takes 4 hours for a full charge using an 11kW Smart Connected Wall Box.

The CRETA Electric sets new standards with features like:

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, transforming the SUV into a portable power source.
  • i-Pedal Technology for seamless one-pedal driving.
  • Digital Key for smartphone or smartwatch-controlled locking, unlocking, and starting.
  • Shift-by-wire System for intuitive and futuristic gear control.

The Hyundai CRETA Electric will be available in four variants – Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence – with 10 color options, including 3 matte shades. The striking Ocean Blue Metallic with Black Roof offers a sophisticated and modern appeal.

HMIL is committed to fostering sustainable mobility in India, aligning with its global vision. The company is expanding EV infrastructure, aiming to establish 600 fast public EV charging stations over the next seven years and providing access to over 10,000 charging points through the myHyundai app.

The Hyundai CRETA Electric is more than a vehicle; it’s a statement of progress, sustainability, and Hyundai’s unwavering commitment to India’s transition toward electric mobility.
