The Indian ed-tech industry will soon transform significantly due to AI advancements, changing student needs, and a rising demand for flexible learning: Ram Ramalingam, GeniusMentor
Share Share ShareShare

GeniusMentor’s AI platform offers a personalised way of teaching and engaging with students. It said that it is the world’s 1st platform to be powered by Artificial Super-Intelligence (Super AI), it adapts to each student’s unique learning style and pace, in real time. Whether one is an educator looking to enhance student engagement and experience, or a learner seeking a customised 1×1 approach, the platform offers real-time assessments, personalised and curated content, and adaptive learning pathways.

Medianews4U.com caught up with Ram Ramalingam, Founder & CMO, GeniusMentor

Q. What was the gap seen in the market that led to the creation of GeniusMentor?

Given my own academic struggles in the past, I’m both critical and vocal about India’s quality of education, and its direct impacts to its quality of workforce, on a global stage. I believe, unless each student isn’t given personalised education and attention, the road to achieving educational quality will remain a distant dream. So, deciding to bridge this gap, I founded GeniusMentor, an AI-powered EdTech platform that offers 1×1 personalised learning and attention to each student, powered by AI Tutors.

Q. What are the key differentiators of GeniusMentor in edtech, a sector that has seen a big course correction with funding slowing down?

Below are our few key differentiators:-

a. The only EdTech platform to offer 100% AI-powered education, from AI Tutors – real-like, licensed Avatars of world-class teachers and authors
b. A mantra of “One Teacher, One Student, One Future”: With customized content for each student, curated by AI, that’s based on each one’s unique learning needs, patterns, abilities, pace and grasping power
c. Zero language barrier with advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) – a teacher from South of India, can teach students in Bihar in fluent Bhojpuri (with real/proper mannerisms, perfect lip-sync, etc.)

Q. Could you talk about how Artificial Super-Intelligence (Super AI) facilitates students learning better and faster?

Sure. We’ve built the world’s first Super AI-powered platform to make the learning experience highly-interactive and engaging for students/learners, and giving them a truly personalised learning experience, along with deep-level analytics, feedback and recommendations shared with each student on a 1×1 basis on a regular basis. Moreover, a student can learn on their own time – i.e., if a student has early-morning revisions or late-night doubts, their AI Tutor is just One-Click away, every time.

Q. From a marketing perspective what are going to be the focus areas and goals?

Firstly, we’re driven by a singular goal: to elevate India’s workforce to global standards by revolutionising education. Our story began with a passion to bridge the gap between traditional learning methods and the demands of the modern workforce. We will keep our strategies aligned with the goal. Secondly, we would like to onboard learners, parents, and institutions to join our platform and discover new possibilities.

Last, but not the least – we’d target to raise funding/capital from top-level investors who share our vision & passion. AI isn’t cheap, and we want to scale our AI as well as the outreach, so that our product can be affordable for lower-to-middle income groups as well, under the government’s “Each One Teach One” initiative

Q. Will GeniusMentor mainly focus on digital and social media marketing in 2025?

Absolutely! We would also want to focus on partnering with universities to integrate AI-powered learning into curricula. Collaborate on research, faculty development, and internships. Onboard new learners through social media, influencer partnerships, and referrals. Offer free trials, demos, and webinars to showcase platform benefits and drive user adoption.

Q. Could you talk about the partnerships with Schools and Colleges?

Absolutely. This would be a great new avenue for institutions to reach more students in the far corners of our country. We plan to reach out to 1.5 million+ schools, colleges, universities, teachers, educators etc in the next few years.

Moreover, our AI Tutors, who will be real-like, licensed Avatars of famous teachers and authors, will be a secondary or passive income stream for teachers, where for each hour their Avatar is invoked, they get paid a royalty. Also, imagine if Ms. Yadav, a renowned science teacher from a famous institution from UP, can teach students in the South of India, in Tamil, Malayalam or Kannada?

Q. What are the trends that will shape Indian Edtech in 2025? Will AI Tutors be crucial?

The Indian ed-tech industry is primed to undergo a seismic transformation, driven by rapid technological advancements like AI, evolving student needs, and a growing demand for flexible learning.

Personalised learning and AI tutors will play a major role in shaping the Indian edtech sector in 2025. In personalised learning, teacher curates content for each student according to the student’s learning style, pace, grasping power etc. AI-powered tutors can provide accessible learning across a wide range of subjects, catering to individual learning styles and needs.

In fact, the billionaire CEO of NVIDIA Jensen Huang has also mentioned – AI TUTOR IS THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are no longer futuristic concepts; they are shaping the personalised learning experiences of millions. AI-powered adaptive learning platforms analyse student performance, identify weak areas, and offer tailor-made solutions to enhance comprehension. From AI-driven chatbots that assist students with queries to automated grading systems, these technologies are making learning more efficient and insightful.

The transformation of India’s ed-tech landscape is ensuring that learning becomes more accessible, engaging, and future-ready. In the years ahead, this sector will not only redefine education and empower millions, but also improve the quality of education in India thereby producing a high quality workforce ready for the global stage.

Q. Why is there no GenAI in EdTech?

Well, I have no idea why EdTech has been overlooked by the “AI Gods” so far, especially because it can definitely use a lot of AI, and it can do some real good to the society too!

But, GeniusMentor is here now to specifically serve this “under-served” sector with a cutting-edge, one-of-a-kind AI platform, that’s customised for Education – a sector that’s primed for a major AI-powered transformation, which in-turn will lead to one of the biggest, most direct and positive outcomes to the society.

Q. Is media and entertainment an important sector for GeniusMentor in terms of students wanting to enter it and executives looking to upskill?

Our objective is to provide customised education via curated content for each learner based on what they want to learn – as long as the topic is legal, ethical and moral. So, if someone wants to learn about Content Delivery Network or Digital Content Creation, or learn Motion-Graphics, then our platform is the place to learn that!

Q. Does AI need more regulation or less regulation? That was one topic of debate at the AI Summit in Paris. US VP JD Vance has called for less regulation.

More, more, and more! I believe India should lay-down strict policies and regulatory compliance for Ethical Use of AI. Moreover, they should also support start-ups for this initiative with a relevant fund, or guidance, etc.
