Mumbai: Lorraine Martin, Group Communications Officer – India at The Ogilvy Group, has announced her retirement, marking the end of an impactful career spanning nearly 30 years with the agency. Widely respected across the communications and media industry, Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of strategic excellence, relationship-building, and an enduring imprint on Ogilvy’s brand narrative in India.
In a heartfelt message to industry colleagues and media partners, Lorraine wrote, “It is with mixed feelings that I write to inform you that I retire from Ogilvy on Monday, 30th June, 2025. After almost 3 decades!” She went on to express her deep gratitude for those who played a role in shaping her journey, acknowledging their “support and patience every step of the way.”
During her tenure, Lorraine was instrumental in launching several high-impact initiatives and was often at the forefront of the agency’s communications innovations. Her message fondly recalled these contributions: “I have had the excitement and satisfaction of launching many ‘firsts’ in Ogilvy and also take away memories that will stick and keep me going for many years to come.”
A consummate professional known for her warmth and integrity, Lorraine’s strength lay in forging authentic relationships with media professionals. “Most of these are memories of wonderful interactions with journalists, some of whom I can today call ‘friends’,” she noted.
While retirement marks the close of an era, Lorraine’s sign-off hinted at the joy of newfound freedom: “Right now I feel exuberant about what lies ahead. But for now, NOTHING lies ahead… just a long stretch of lazy days and lazy nights – no checking emails/messages, returning calls, even on weekends and/or on holidays.”
Her parting words to colleagues were gracious and uplifting: “This is about you and my gratitude to all of you for being excellent partners right through my life in Ogilvy.”
Lorraine’s departure is not just the end of a professional chapter but a moment that will be remembered across the industry. As she moves into a well-earned period of rest and reflection, her legacy of thoughtful storytelling and empathetic leadership remains etched in Ogilvy’s history.
