Localized Kannada Call Reason and Verified Caller ID set new benchmark in customer experience for ride-hailing users

Bengaluru: In a move to redefine customer communication and enhance rider trust, Namma Yatri, India’s first ride-hailing app built on an open mobility network, has announced a strategic partnership with Truecaller, the global leader in verified communication solutions. The collaboration aims to improve the quality and reliability of interactions between drivers, riders, and support agents on the platform.

Leveraging Truecaller’s Customer Experience Solution, Namma Yatri now enables users to identify verified calls from its support teams and drivers through Verified Business Caller ID, Business Profile, Video Caller ID, and Localized Call Reason, all designed to foster secure and contextual interactions. As part of the rollout, Namma Yatri has become one of the first mobility platforms to integrate Kannada-language Call Reasons, reinforcing its hyperlocal engagement strategy.

“Language plays a huge role in building trust. With Truecaller’s localized Call Reason feature, we can connect with our riders in a way that’s both intuitive and comforting. It’s a small change that makes a big difference,” said Rajiv Ravindran, Director Cx & Growth, Namma Yatri.

One of the standout features of the partnership is the Kannada Call Reason, which flashes on the rider’s phone even before they answer a call: “ನಮ್ಮ ಯಾತ್ರಿ ಗ್ರಾಹಕ ಸೇವಾ”(Translation: Namma Yatri Customer Service). This localized message allows users to instantly identify and trust incoming support calls, reducing missed connections and improving overall service reliability.

Namma Yatri is also deploying Truecaller’s One Tap-OTP-Less Login and SDK integration for seamless and secure user verification, particularly beneficial in Tier II cities where the app continues to expand its services. These innovations ensure easy onboarding in vernacular languages, supporting a frictionless experience for new users.

The integration of Video Caller ID and Business Profiles further enhances engagement by enabling users to see personalized video greetings or branded visuals before answering a call. These features, combined with verified identification, allow for a more secure and reassuring experience.

This partnership reinforces Namma Yatri’s position as a tech-first and customer-centric mobility platform, dedicated to creating transparent and personalized ride experiences. By embracing Truecaller’s communication suite, the platform is also setting a new benchmark for safety and trust in the ride-hailing ecosystem.
