NexGTv OTT Platform aims to expand services to over 140 countries

Mumbai : In a scenario where Star India’s hotstar is looking to expand beyond the boundaries of India, the Standalone OTT platform nexGTv also declared their plans to expand its services to over 140 countries.

nexGTv also hopes to close content acquisition deals worth a “few million dollars” as part of the expansion strategy, according to a top executive of the company.

Viewers will be able to access nexGTv’s subscription-based video entertainment application (app) on their mobile devices, said Abhesh Verma, COO of nexGTv.

“We expect to see a lot of traction from countries like the US, Canada, Australia and the Middle East. These are countries with relatively high Indian population,” he added

Verma also said. “We are also targeting international audiences.”

According to Verma, up to 4 million Indian-origin people in the US are subscription-based users on nexGTv. The categories the startup plans on including are devotional content and local language content.
