Mumbai: Raj Karan Marhas, Cluster CEO – South at Zomato, has announced his departure from the company after a 7.5-year stint, marking the end of a journey that saw him rise through the ranks from an account manager to a senior leadership role.
In a LinkedIn update, Marhas reflected on his tenure, highlighting his experience across multiple markets including Pune, Nagpur, Goa, East India and Bengaluru. His responsibilities over the years spanned city launches, business turnarounds and full ownership of key financial metrics such as P&L, EBITDA and NOV.
Describing the journey as both challenging and transformative, Marhas noted that much of his time at Zomato involved navigating uncertainty and solving problems in real time. He credited his growth to the teams he worked with, the leaders who placed their trust in him and the peers who supported him along the way.
Marhas’ career at Zomato saw steady progression through leadership roles. After beginning as an account manager, he went on to serve as City CEO for Goa, a role he held for around two years. He was later elevated to Cluster CEO – East, a position he held from November 2023 to 2025, before taking on his most recent role as Cluster CEO – South.
Prior to joining Zomato, Marhas had stints with Naukri and Amul, gaining early experience across sales and business operations.
Marhas holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Marketing) from Kirloskar Institute of Management (KIM) and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Business/Commerce from the University of Calcutta.
While he has not disclosed details of his next move, Marhas indicated he will be transitioning to a new chapter in his professional journey.
