Mumbai: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has expanded its cricket portfolio by acquiring the exclusive television and digital broadcasting rights for the upcoming Tri-Nation Series featuring India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from June 9 to June 21, 2026.
Under the agreement, SPN will exclusively televise and livestream all matches from the tournament across India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka, further strengthening its position as a leading destination for international cricket content in the region.
The tournament is expected to draw significant attention from cricket fans as it showcases some of the most promising emerging talents in the game. Among the standout names is 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has earned his maiden India A ODI call-up following an impressive domestic season. Fans will also be keenly watching players such as Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni and Suryansh Shedge, who have emerged as exciting prospects in recent months.
India A will be led by Tilak Varma, with Ruturaj Gaikwad serving as vice-captain. The squad features a mix of established domestic performers and emerging young talent, including Nishant Sindhu, Prabhsimran Singh, Kumar Kushagra, Vipraj Nigam, Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Anshul Kamboj, Arshad Khan and Anukul Roy.
The competition will be played in a double round-robin format, with each team facing the others twice before the top two sides advance to the final on June 21. Across seven One Day International fixtures, the series is expected to provide a valuable platform for emerging players to showcase their abilities at the international level.
The acquisition further enhances SPN’s cricket offering for 2026 and aligns with the broadcaster’s strategy of investing in premium live sports properties across multiple formats and levels of the game.

Commenting on the development, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution and International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), said, “The addition of the tri-nation broadens our cricket portfolio and the series represents an important milestone in the development pathway for emerging cricketers across the region. One of the biggest draws for viewers will be to watch the biggest sensation in Indian cricket, teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi whose explosive talent is making him one of the most talked-about players today.”
The broadcaster said fans will be able to watch live coverage of the tournament from 10:00 AM IST across Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV in five languages — English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
