Chennai : As per the ratings of week 5 for the South GECs, Tamil Nadu, AP and Kerala market witnessed a overall surge in viewership, while Karnataka market didn’t see major changes.
In the Tamil GEC space, Sun TV topped the chart with 230581 GVTs in week 5 which is a gain from 224,920 GVTs week 4 which dropped considerably in the previous from 267,930 GVTs in week 3. Star Vijay at No. 2 also surged to 75900 GVTs in week 5 from 70,651 GVTs in week 4 which also had fallen from 101,455 GVTs in week 3 and Kalaignar TV ranked number three also witnessed increase in ratings to 24783 GVTs in week 5 from 17,076 GVTs in week 4, Zee Tamil followed closely with 24067 GVTs in week 5 and Raj TV scored 17044 GVTs.
In Kerala Market Asianet stood on top among Malayalam GECs with third consecutive surge with 61112 GVTs in week 5 against 58,452 GVTs in week 4 and 55,404 in week 3. while Mazhavil Manorama managed to retain its No. 2 position this week also with 17037 GVTs against 16602 GVTs in week 4 and 16735 GVTs in week 3 and Surya TV ranked number three with 16566 GVTs in this week against 14,172 GVTs in week 4 and 15,689 GVTs in week 3. Kairali TV also increased to 6361 GVTs in week 5 from 3427 GVTs in week 4 and 5388 GVTs in week 3. Asianet Plus also saw its ratings increase to 5753 GVTs in this week from 4326 GVTs in week 4 and 5034 GVTs in week 3. Amrutha TV scored 1894 GVTs in this week against 1748 GVTs in the previous week and 3402 in week 3.
Among news channels in Kerala Market Manorama News stood at strong No. 1 with record surge to 1022 GVTs in week 5 against 703 GVTs in week 4, followed by Asianet News with 781 GVTs in week 5 against 606 GVTs in week 4, Mathrubhumi News at No. 3 scored 469 GVTs in week 5 against 269 GVTs in week 4, Reporter at No. 4 scored 378 GVTs in week 5 against 359 GVTs in week 4 and People scored 125 GVTs in week 5 against 196 GVTs in week 4.
Karnataka Market Udaya TV at No.1 spot in the Kannada GEC space witnessed a marginal drop to 83990 GVTs in this week from 84,090 GVTs in week 4 and scored 77,421 GVTs in week 3. ETV Kannada ranked second dropped to 52342 GVTs in this week against 56,894 GVTs in week 4 and scored 50,505 in week 3 and Suvarna at number three dropped to 44211 GVTs in week 5 against 45,918 GVTs in week 4 and scored 50,208 week 3, Zee Kannada at No. 4 scored 34817 GVTs in week 5 against 37,068 GVTs in week 4 and 33,965 GVTs in week 3, Kasturi TV scored 7251 GVTs in week 5 against 7392 GVTs in week 4 and 8681 in week 3.
In the Telugu GEC space, Maa TV retained the top spot increased to 106835 GVTs in this week against 101,388 GVTs in previous week and 112,406 in week 3, followed by Zee Telugu with 91733 GVTs against 90,376 GVTs in week 4 and 107,621 week 3 and Gemini TV at number three surged to 91093 GVTs in week 5 against 89,171 GVTs in week 4 and scored 121,600 GVTs in week 3 and ETV Telugu at No. 4 dropped down to 87484 GVTs in this week against 91,440 GVTs in week 4 and 90,722 GVTs in week 3.
