Mumbai: Superkicks, a sneaker and streetwear destination, has unveiled its latest cultural project, Air.Wav—a bold initiative that blends the worlds of music, fashion, and movement to mark Air Max Day in a completely original way. More than just a campaign, Air.Wav is a music-centric cultural statement celebrating the deep-rooted influence of sneakers on global subcultures and the rise of independent music.
Created as an ode to the iconic Air Max and the rhythms of street culture, Air.Wav is not only a sonic experience but a symbol of creative freedom. Superkicks has taken a massive leap beyond its retail roots to commission an original track, uniting the beats of streetwear with the pulse of independent hip-hop, rap, and experimental music.
“Superkicks has always been more than just a retail space; it’s a community hub. We have sought to nurture street culture and independent music since day one. Through our Co-Sign platform, we have highlighted over 30 artists, giving them a platform to showcase their work. Air.Wav is a bold new step in our journey, and we’re excited to continue pushing boundaries and paving the way for global collaborations in the years to come,” said Sangeet Paryani, CEO and Co-Founder of Superkicks.
At the heart of the Air.Wav collective are dynamic artists RAK, Tienas, and Feni Fina, whose lyrical identities span raw storytelling, genre-bending cadence, and fearless individuality. Backing them are forward-thinking producers Dhiraaj and 3BHK, who merge everything from baile funk to traditional Indian instrumentation into lush, boundary-pushing soundscapes. The result is a multi-layered track that channels culture, confidence, and kinetic energy.
The name Air.Wav is a clever dual reference: to airwaves—a nod to music and broadcasting—and the legendary Air Max sneaker tech. It’s a fusion that speaks to how sound and style move culture forward, and how sneakers have long been at the heart of music-driven movements.
Shot in Subculture Studios, Khar, a short documentary will give fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the track—featuring candid artist interviews and insights from Superkicks founder Sangeet Paryani. A special launch event at Iron Buzz Tattoo Studio will bring the community together to celebrate, featuring a first listen of the track, the documentary screening, and interactive experiences with the creators.
The track officially drops March 26 across all major streaming platforms, amplifying Superkicks’ role not just as a premium retailer, but as a platform for cultural disruption and creative collaboration.
