Mumbai: Tata Power has launched ‘Vidyut Dhaara’, a new social impact expression that reflects the company’s vision of empowering a billion lives through sustainable, affordable, and innovative energy solutions. Conceived as an extension of Tata Power’s business purpose, Vidyut Dhaara aims to showcase how energy creates impact far beyond powering homes and industries by enabling livelihoods, education, inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
Created in collaboration with Swarathma and Music Boutique, Vidyut Dhaara comes alive through an original film and title track that weave together stories of opportunity, resilience, and transformation. The initiative underscores Tata Power’s belief that social impact is not separate from business, but deeply integrated into how energy creates long-term value for communities.
Built around the idea that the journey of energy extends well beyond the grid, the campaign presents a human-centred narrative that explores how access to energy shapes aspirations and unlocks possibilities across different walks of life.
At the centre of the film is Dhaara, a young protagonist whose journey moves through classrooms, workshops, fields, and communities, illustrating the ripple effect of energy in enabling education, entrepreneurship, inclusion, and environmental consciousness.
The narrative also highlights several of Tata Power’s flagship social initiatives including Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), focused on equipping youth with green skills and power-sector capabilities; Anokha Dhaaga, the company’s entrepreneurship and livelihood initiative; Pay Autention, which promotes neurodiversity awareness and inclusion; and Club Enerji, Tata Power’s long-running programme focused on energy conservation and sustainability literacy among students.
Set against Tata Power’s hydro and renewable energy landscapes, the film positions sustainable energy transition as closely linked to social transformation and inclusive growth.
To create a more immersive storytelling experience, Tata Power partnered with contemporary folk-rock band Swarathma, whose original composition acts as the emotional thread connecting the stories featured in the film.
The launch also aligns with Tata Power’s broader clean energy ambitions. The company has committed to increasing the share of clean and green capacity in its portfolio to 70% by 2030, reinforcing its long-term focus on sustainable growth and measurable environmental progress.
With Vidyut Dhaara, Tata Power seeks to reinforce its belief that business purpose and community aspirations can advance together, creating impact that extends beyond infrastructure and into everyday lives.
