MUMBAI: ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar’ claimed the title of ‘Album of The Year’ at the the Mirchi Music Awards. This year’s edition showcased music across categories and genres, spanning film, indie, raag, technical excellence, and the highly coveted Listener’s Choice Awards.

Pritam shared, “Each award honours the efforts of innumerable people who contribute to a film’s music album. It’s always nice to be acknowledged at the Mirchi Music Awards for the love and work we put into each song. My sincere appreciation to the listeners and the entire crew. Thank you so much for the honour!”

Meanwhile, ‘Besharam Rang’ from ‘Pathaan’ bagged the honour of ‘Song of The Year,’ a track that had many grooving to its tunes. The song’s success didn’t stop there, as it also earned the ‘Female Vocalist of The Year’ award, shared by Shilpa Rao and Caralisa Monteiro, as well as the ‘Music Composer of The Year’ award, which went to the dynamic duo Vishal-Sheykhar for their brilliant composition. “Creating music that resonates with listeners is a reward in itself, but receiving this honor at the Mirchi Music Awards adds to the joy. It motivates the both of us to keep pushing boundaries and exploring new sounds. A big thank you to our fans, the jury, and everyone who’s been part of this musical journey,” shared Vishal-Sheykhar on this win.

In the Listener’s Choice Awards category, the album ‘Animal’ emerged as the ‘Listener’s Choice Album of the Year.’ It featured singers, including Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, and more, and compositions by Ashim Kemson, Bhupinder Babbal, and others

In the Listener’s Choice Song of the Year category, ‘Phir Aur Kya Chahiye’ from ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ was crowned the winner. It was sung by Arijit Singh and Sachin-Jigar, with music by Sachin-Jigar and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Bhattacharya shared, “Kalaakaar qadardaan ke bina kuchh nahin. Thank you Mirchi Music Awards for appreciating, celebrating and felicitating my work over the years. Love & gratitude always.”

On the independent music front, Labon Se Baat by Shekhar Ravjiani, Madhubanti Bagchi, and Rishabh Sharma won the ‘Indie Song of the Year’ title. The romantic ‘Mahiye Jinna Sohna’ by Darshan Raval was awarded the ‘Listener’s Choice Indie Song of the Year.’ Expressing his gratitude, Darshan Raval stated, “This is a very surreal experience for me and my songs to be recognised at such a platform. It’s a validation of the love and hard work that goes into every note, every lyric. I’m deeply grateful to my fans, my team, and my mentor Naushad bhai who’s supported me along the way.”

Meanwhile, ‘Rut Badle’, sung by Om Bongane, triumphed in the ‘Raag Inspired Song of the Year’ category, celebrating classical music.

Commenting on the songwriting process, lyricist Kumaar remarked, “Every song begins as a simple thought, and to see it come alive and resonate with so many people is immensely fulfilling. Winning at the Mirchi Music Awards is not just a personal achievement but a celebration of everyone who believed in the power of these lyrics.”

Speaking on the 16th Edition, Yatish Mehrishi, CEO ENIL, said, “The Mirchi Music Awards have always been a platform to honor the talent and dedication that shape the Indian music industry. This year too, we celebrated a diverse range of music, from timeless golden-era classics to today’s chart-toppers and emerging new talent. Whether it’s paying tribute to legendary artists or highlighting fresh voices and technical expertise, MMA continues to uphold high standards of fairness and inclusivity. At ENIL, we take pride in celebrating Indian music’s rich legacy while encouraging and supporting the next generation of talent.”
