Chennai: TVS Capital Funds (TCF), a prominent growth equity firm with a “Designed-for-India” ethos, today announced a reconstitution of its Board of Directors. The move reflects the firm’s evolving priorities as it continues to enable India’s journey towards becoming a $10 trillion economy. The refreshed board structure reinforces TCF’s commitment to deep sectoral expertise, institutional-grade governance, and value creation across its portfolio of founder-led businesses.
As part of this strategic transition, TCF has inducted three seasoned business leaders to its Board as Independent Directors: Shyam Srinivasan, former MD & CEO of Federal Bank; Subhasri Sriram, MD & CEO of Shriram Capital; and Mithun Sacheti, Founder and former MD of CaratLane. Each brings distinct strengths in financial services, governance, and digital consumer scaling, reinforcing TCF’s partnership-led investment model.
Shyam Srinivasan will also serve as Senior Advisor and Operating Partner, bringing his extensive institutional knowledge and leadership experience to support the firm’s mission. Subhasri Sriram’s three-decade career in financial services and corporate governance is expected to bring further rigor to TCF’s oversight frameworks. Mithun Sacheti’s entrepreneurial journey, notably scaling CaratLane into a leading digital-first jewellery brand, offers valuable insight into building next-generation consumer businesses.

Welcoming the new board members, Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director of TVS Capital Funds, said, “The addition of Mithun, Subhasri, and Shyam marks an important milestone for TCF. Their diverse expertise and shared commitment to purposeful growth will help us further our mission. We also honour the remarkable contributions of Mr. R. Thyagarajan, Mr. Pradeep Kumar, and Mr. Rajeev Gupta, whose leadership and insights have been of great importance to us. We look forward to continuing to benefit from Mr. R. Thyagarajan’s mentorship in his role as Mentor Emeritus.”
R. Thyagarajan, who played a foundational role in TCF’s inception, has concluded his formal association with the Board and will now serve as Mentor Emeritus. Board veterans Pradeep Kumar and Rajeev Gupta are also stepping down from their active roles. TCF expressed deep gratitude to the outgoing members for their instrumental guidance and enduring contributions to the firm’s culture of excellence and integrity.
The newly appointed board members also shared their perspectives on joining TCF:
“I am pleased to join TVS Capital Funds as an Independent Director. Excited to help shape a values-led institution that powers enduring businesses and future-ready leaders, building for Bharat with purpose at the core,” said Shyam Srinivasan.
“I am honoured to join TVS Capital Funds as Director. TVS Capital’s legacy of nurturing next-gen entrepreneurs and building enduring businesses aligns deeply with my own professional values. I look forward to being part of the fund’s mission of catalysing India’s next wave of growth and innovation,” said Subhasri Sriram.
“It is a privilege to join the Board of TVS Capital. I deeply admire the firm’s commitment to ideas-based investing and building multi-decadal businesses with integrity and insight. I look forward to contributing to this mission alongside a distinguished group of board members,” said Mithun Sacheti.
With this reconstitution, TVS Capital Funds reaffirms its commitment to being a trusted partner for Indian entrepreneurs, supporting long-term value creation through a blend of capital, capability, and governance.
