Vim by HUL launches AI-powered dynamic product displays to boost Consumer Engagement

Mumbai: Hindustan Unilever (HUL)’s Vim brand is revolutionizing the in-store shopping experience with the launch of its Dynamic Product Displays (DPDs), also known as “shelf bots,” for its new Vim UltraPro Floor Cleaner. This cutting-edge AI-powered tool is set to transform traditional retail spaces into highly engaging and informative environments, enhancing product visibility and elevating the consumer experience within the competitive floor cleaning category.

The two-month activation, in collaboration with Reliance Retail Group, will be featured across the top 100 Reliance stores in over 15 cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, among others. The launch aligns with the Q4-2024 India introduction of the Vim UltraPro Floor Cleaner, a game-changing innovation that combines probiotics technology with superior formulations for exceptional cleaning power.

Speaking about the technology and its impact on innovative marketing, Srinandan Sundaram, General Manager: Home Care India, Hindustan Unilever, said, “This initiative underscores HUL’s commitment to innovation and providing consumers with a superior shopping experience. The DPDs represent a significant advancement in modern trade marketing, setting a new standard for in-store engagement and product discovery.”

Strategically positioned in modern trade stores, the DPDs utilize motion detection technology to engage shoppers. As customers approach, the robotic arm is activated, using a blend of motion, lighting, and audio to deliver key product information. This interaction creates a memorable and informative experience, setting it apart from conventional shelf displays.

The DPDs will deliver localized audio messages, emphasizing the key benefits and superior cleaning power of the new Vim UltraPro Floor Cleaner. This targeted, personalized approach ensures clear and relatable communication, ultimately driving higher purchase consideration and consumer understanding.

HUL anticipates approximately 200+ interactions per day per store, leading to increased consumer engagement and longer dwell time in the retail environment. This groundbreaking strategy underscores HUL’s dedication to innovation and its commitment to the growth and success of the Vim UltraPro Floor Cleaner in the competitive market.
