Wunderman Thompson drives inspirational growth and performance excellence in Q1 ’21

Mumbai: Wunderman Thompson has had a triumphant start to 2021 and has ended the first quarter of the year on a winning spree.  This year also marks the two-year anniversary for Wunderman Thompson, and the agency continues its growth momentum well into the year. The agency’s expert capabilities across creative, strategic consultancy, commerce and data-driven experience design have been recognized through a slew of global awards and accreditation, coupled with winning over 150 new businesses such as the creative AOR duties for the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce, Salesforce, J&J and Amazon to name a few.

The agency won a total of 20 Clio awards at the 2021 festival that includes 2 Gold, 6 Silver, and 12 Bronze. At Asia’s most celebrated regional creative festival – AdFest 2021, Wunderman Thompson Bangkok was named ‘Agency of the Year’ and ‘Digital Agency of the Year’ for their work on Thai Airways ‘Stay Home Miles Exchange’. The work won a number of awards, including the Direct Lotus Grande, and Thai Airways was named ‘Advertiser of the Year’. At the Dubai Lynx awards, one of the world’s premier benchmarks for creativity, Wunderman Thompson’s MENA team picked up three Grand Prix, six gold, six silver and 11 bronze awards. At Spikes Asia 2021, Wunderman Thompson APAC bagged 2 Grand Prix, 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 10 Bronze awards, with Wunderman Thompson Thailand named the Thailand Country Agency of the Year. Closer home, Wunderman Thompson India was awarded gold as the ‘Digital Agency of the Year’ at the 11th edition of the Internet and Mobile Association of India’s (IAMAI) India Digital Awards.

For the third year in a row and every year since its founding as an agency brand in 2019, Wunderman Thompson has been named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Global Marketing Agencies. Gartner highlighted the agency’s creative capabilities and knowledge in strategic consulting, its advanced e-commerce capabilities for global clients and expertise in data-driven experience design, and the strength of the Wunderman Thompson client roster across B2B and B2C brands. Gartner also gave a special mention to the Wunderman Thompson INSPIRE study – the agency’s proprietary global study that reveals why brands need to be inspirational, how inspiration drives tangible business growth and what brands can do to inspire their customers.

One of the strongest signals for marketing and technology leaders today continues to be The Forrester Wave™ and Forrester recently recognised WPP as a Leader in the Commerce Services Wave.  Wunderman Thompson Commerce is WPP’s largest commerce agency and has globally contributed towards the WPP submission to Forrester.  With the pandemic driving an increase in e-commerce of almost 30%, this achievement is testament to Wunderman Thompson’s industry-leading commerce capabilities, that make it a valued growth partner for clients.

In terms of launches, Wunderman Thompson developed ‘Resolve’, a marketing solutions tool to help brands adapt to the new reality of a cookie-less world. Resolve is Wunderman Thompson’s privacy-first personalisation technology that uses AI to help brands recognise their customers so they can personalise CRM, media and ecommerce – without sharing customer data or using third-party tracking. At the end of last year, the agency also launched its Annual Future 100 Report revealing 100 trends that will shape 2021, from touchless travel to micropreneurs. The report is developed by Wunderman Thompson Intelligence, the agency’s futures think tank and innovation unit.
