Mumbai: Renault Group has announced the appointment of Stephane Deblaise as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its India operations, effective September 1, 2025. In his new role, Deblaise will be responsible for defining and executing the Group’s strategy in India, with all Renault Group entities in the country reporting directly to him. He will report to Francois Provost, Chief of Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs Officer, Renault Group.
In addition to his current responsibilities as Managing Director of Renault India (RIPL), Venkatram Mamillapalle will continue to support Stephane Deblaise on corporate affairs in India, with a focus on shaping the Group’s mid-term growth strategy in the region.
Stephane Deblaise, 52, brings over two decades of extensive global experience within Renault Group. A graduate of Telecom Physique Strasbourg and IFP School, he began his career at Saft Batteries before joining Renault in 2000 as an Advanced Process Engineer. Since then, he has held several strategic roles across continents, including:
- Chief Vehicle Engineer for the Entry Program in Latin America (2009)
- Vice President, Product Planning & Programs at Dongfeng-Renault in China (2014)
- Worldwide C&D Segment Program Director in France (2017)
- Vice President, Renault Group Vehicles and Cross Car Line Program (2021)
Most recently, since 2022, Deblaise served as CEO of Renault Korea, where he spearheaded critical transformation initiatives—positioning the company as a global hub for mid and large-sized vehicle development and production, while also modernizing the Busan plant for multi-energy vehicle output.
His appointment comes at a time when India is poised for strong automotive sector growth, and Renault Group aims to strengthen its market presence, portfolio and local manufacturing footprint.
With a deep understanding of global markets and a proven track record in engineering and operational leadership, Deblaise’s leadership is expected to drive the next chapter of Renault Group’s strategic vision and expansion in India.
