Hungama OTT’s Hasratein returns with stories of courage, desire and selfhood
Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: Hungama OTT, one of India’s leading digital entertainment platforms, has announced the launch of Hasratein Season 3, the latest chapter of its acclaimed anthology series that continues to explore women’s inner worlds, unspoken desires, and quiet rebellion. Following the success of its first two seasons, the new instalment delves deeper into lives shaped by suffocating marriages, rigid traditions, political manipulation, and emotional neglect.

Over the years, Hasratein has carved a distinctive space for narratives often left untold, resonating with audiences for its raw and honest portrayal of women navigating desire, identity, and societal constraints. Season 3 features six compelling episodes spanning thriller, crime, and drama genres—each bold, intimate, and unapologetically human. The season premieres with its first two episodes on January 22, followed by two episodes on January 27, and the final two episodes on February 4.

The six stories in Hasratein Season 3 unfold as powerful journeys of silence, survival, and self-awakening. Halla Bol follows Jyoti, an abused wife pushed into politics as a puppet, who gradually finds her voice and rebels against control. Beauty Parlour centres on Salma, a Lucknow-based beautician juggling poverty, motherhood, and a neglectful marriage, as she confronts the cost of security to her dignity. Midnight Bride tells the story of Ananya, a young widow confined by rigid traditions in a haveli, whose suppressed desires surface through art and an unexpected presence. Do Anjaane brings together two strangers—an abused wife and a falsely accused man—who find fragile hope during a riot-torn night. In Gupchup Rasoi, ignored food columnist Nirmala discovers affirmation and danger when her kitchen becomes a space of rebellion. Naya Kiraayedaar traces Smita’s quiet longing after her husband’s disappearance, as the arrival of a young musician disrupts a life lived under constant watch.

Talking about the new season, Neeraj Roy, Managing Director of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, said, “With Hasratein Season 3, we continue our commitment to telling stories that are bold, honest, and deeply human. This season brings six women to the forefront, each navigating desire, fear, and agency in a world that expects them to stay quiet, and each finding her own way to reclaim what she deserves. We believe this season will resonate powerfully with audiences and spark meaningful conversations because these stories are not rare. They are simply rarely spoken about out loud.”

Sharing his perspective on the show, Sanam said, “What drew me to Hasratein 3 was how sensitively it portrays relationships and power dynamics. My character believes in support, not control, and sees strength where others see silence. That perspective felt very real and relevant.”

Marking her OTT debut, Mugdha shared, “OTT was always on my mind, but I wanted my first project to have depth and purpose. Hungama OTT offered a story that was powerful and centred around women, and that clarity made my decision easy.”

Speaking about her role, Garima said, “This is a women empowerment story that shows that dreams can be achieved at any age and after any situation. Salma’s journey is about choosing herself and becoming successful despite everything she has been through. I have seen many real-life stories like this, and I truly want to portray strong characters that leave a meaningful message.”

Kunal Verma, who plays Suleiman in Beauty Parlour, said, “Beauty Parlour is about quiet resilience and hard truths. Suleiman sees Salma’s strength without trying to control or rescue her, and that’s what makes their dynamic meaningful. This story sheds light on emotional neglect, coercion, and the courage it takes to choose dignity over dependence.”

Shivangi Verma, who essays the role of Ananya in Midnight Bride, said, “Ananya’s life is shaped by silence, loss, and denial of colour, desire, and identity. Playing her meant understanding the loneliness of a woman trapped in rigid traditions. This story is about reclaiming the right to live, feel, and exist beyond imposed boundaries.”

Rohan Gandotra, who plays Rishabh, added, “Rishabh’s presence unsettles the world Ananya has been forced to accept. Midnight Bride is not just about forbidden emotion, but about exposing exploitation and hypocrisy hidden behind tradition. That emotional tension is what makes this story so compelling.”

Farnaz Shetty, who plays Ira in Do Anjaane, shared, “Ira is living inside a violent marriage, and that fear is constant. What moved me was how the story shows her finding courage in the most unexpected moment. Do Anjaane is about survival, trust, and choosing to fight for freedom rather than escape.”

Rohit Chaudhary, who plays Diwakar, said, “Diwakar is trapped by a label forced on him—being seen as a threat instead of a human being. This story captures the fear, injustice, and loneliness of being falsely accused, while also showing how connection can restore courage.”

Speaking about her character, Monalisa said, “Gupchup Rasoi is about breaking free without shouting. I truly love portraying feminist characters that speak about women, their self-worth, and the importance of prioritising themselves. Nirmala’s journey from being dominated and humiliated to discovering her self-worth through her passion for cooking is something many women will relate to. It’s a story about choosing yourself, finding strength in unexpected places, and realising that freedom begins from within.”

Shrikant Dwivedi, who plays Shantanu in Gupchup Rasoi, said, “Gup-Chup Rasoi is about affirmation and self-worth. Shantanu enters Nirmala’s world through her craft, not her insecurities. The story beautifully shows how creativity, respect, and storytelling can help someone reclaim their voice and confidence.”

Chahat Pandey, who plays Smita in Naya Kiraayedaar, shared, “Smita is emotionally abandoned, burdened by judgment, and living a life where her needs have been silenced for far too long. What moved me was her internal conflict—between desire and duty, fear and freedom. Her journey isn’t about rebellion alone, but about reclaiming agency after years of neglect. I hope audiences feel her vulnerability and understand the courage it takes to finally choose oneself.”

Subir Rana, who plays Samarth, added, “Samarth enters and straight-up disrupts Smita’s whole world. He brings out emotions she’s been dodging for years. The story dives into unspoken longing, social judgment and the constant pull between personal happiness and societal expectations. It’s layered, emotional and deeply human.”

Hasratein Season 3 is now streaming on Hungama OTT and partner platforms, with new episodes releasing on January 22 and February 4.
