Mumbai: Lifestyle and fashion company Ralph Lauren has appointed Tathagat Varma as Vice President and Head of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India.
Varma will be based in Bengaluru and will oversee the company’s GCC operations in the country. He announced his new role through a LinkedIn post.
Before joining Ralph Lauren, Varma served as Global Tech Ops Leader at Walmart Global Tech. Over the course of his career, he has also held positions at financial technology company NerdWallet.
Sharing the update, Varma expressed enthusiasm about joining the global apparel and lifestyle brand. He highlighted Ralph Lauren’s legacy in designing, marketing and distributing premium lifestyle products across categories such as apparel, accessories and home furnishings.
He also noted the company’s extensive international presence, broad product portfolio and multichannel distribution network, which have helped establish its position in the global luxury and apparel market over the past five decades.
The appointment comes as global enterprises continue to strengthen their India-based capability centres, leveraging the country’s technology and operations talent to support worldwide business functions.
