Mumbai: Times Music has announced the appointment of Anjuman Saxena as Head of A&R – Spiritual & Devotional, marking the return of a deeply respected figure in the Indian music industry. A trained Hindustani classical vocalist and seasoned music professional, Anjuman brings with her decades of experience in curating, producing, and elevating India’s spiritual and devotional music repertoire.
A familiar name in the Times Music family, Anjuman has previously played a transformative role in building the label’s devotional and ghazal catalogue. During her earlier stint, she worked with legends such as Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh, Usha Mangeshkar, Shubha Mudgal, and Abida Parveen—curating landmark projects that left a lasting cultural imprint.
Her contributions extend beyond Times Music. At Saregama India, she redefined the devotional and classical space through critically acclaimed albums like Voices of Freedom, Call of the River, and Tajalli, blending heritage with contemporary resonance.
Her artistic sensibility was shaped by the mentorship of the late Shri Promod Shankar, an accomplished Sarod player and disciple of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, who guided her during her formative years at Times Music.
In addition to her illustrious music career, Anjuman Saxena is also an accomplished actor, having featured in films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Sharmaji Namkeen, Bawaal, and popular OTT series including City of Dreams, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, and Dupahiya. Her multi-disciplinary background brings a unique storytelling depth to her approach in music curation.
Mandar Thakur, CEO of Times Music, expressed his enthusiasm about her return, “We are delighted to have Anjuman back at Times Music. Her impeccable artistic instincts and deep understanding of spiritual music make her the ideal leader to take this genre forward in new and exciting ways.”
Reflecting on her new role, Anjuman Saxena shared, “Times Music has always been close to my heart. I return with the same passion for sound, soaked in tradition but open to innovation. I look forward to crafting soulful journeys that resonate with today’s audiences.”
