COTT for News Reveals the Concurrent Views of the Top 5 Hindi News Channels for Last Night

The viewing preferences of the young demographic have been unmistakably evident in recent years, particularly millennials aged 30 and below, who are becoming prime targets for advertisers and entertainers in the Entertainment & Media industry.

In a recent viewership analysis conducted by Chrome DM, the leading provider of media analytics and insights, the average concurrent views of the top 5 Hindi news channels for primetime last night, i.e., 9PM to 10PM,18th July were unveiled. These numbers shed light on the remarkable audience engagement and viewership patterns during this peak prime-time slot, providing advertisers with valuable insights to make informed decisions.

The analysis reveals the top 5 players in the Hindi news genre, which are Aaj Tak, India TV, Zee News, ABP News & Republic Bharat. Through state-of-the-art data collection techniques and advanced analytics, Chrome DM measured the average number of viewers simultaneously watching these channels during the specified time frame, commonly known as average concurrent views.

The data can be further analysed and segmented based on various factors including Urban and Rural areas, TGs such as age & NCCS classification, and different day parts:

The results revealed a compelling picture of the audience engagement across these channels during the peak prime hour of 9PM to 10PM. The data showcased the immense popularity and reach of the Hindi News genre, with a significant number of viewers actively tuning in to stay informed and updated on the latest news and events.

These average concurrent views provide advertisers with valuable insights to make informed decisions regarding their advertising strategies. By understanding the audience engagement and reach of each channel during this crucial time slot, advertisers can effectively plan and optimize their campaigns, ensuring maximum visibility and impact.

Advertisers and media agencies can leverage this data to evaluate the performance of different Hindi news channels and identify the ones that align with their campaign objectives and target audience. According to the data from COTT for News, captured on 18th July 2023, from 9 – 10 PM AAJ TAK had 266,790 average concurrent views across Smart TVs (Cloud TV, Tizen, Vidaa, Roku, WebOS, Android, iOS & Linux, YouTube, browsers etc.) and Smartphones (YouTube, OTT, native apps, browsers etc.). India TV had 196,340 average concurrent views, Zee News, ABP News and Republic Bharat had 114,175, 83,138, and 64,020 average concurrent views respectively.
