ICW Portfolio Evening 2025 Champions Women and Non-Binary Talent in Indian Advertising

Mumbai: Indian Creative Women (ICW), a collective dedicated to fostering gender diversity in advertising and creative industries, successfully hosted the 5th edition of its flagship Portfolio Evening on January 30th and 31st. The hybrid event, held in partnership with D&AD and the DDB Mudra Group, was sponsored by Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.

With over 30 prominent creative and marketing leaders in attendance, the event provided 80 women and non-binary creatives a valuable platform to showcase their portfolios across disciplines such as design, animation, and advertising. Participants engaged in intensive review sessions, receiving direct feedback from industry experts while exchanging fresh ideas and perspectives.

The Mumbai edition of the Portfolio Evening saw Rishanki Gosalia emerge as the winner, while Dimple Parmar claimed victory in the virtual segment. Both winners have earned an all-expenses-paid trip to the prestigious D&AD Festival in London this May, along with the opportunity to work on a live project with Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.

Reflecting on the event’s impact, Sakshi Choudhary, Founder, Indian Creative Women, stated, “Portfolio Evening 2025 was the fifth successful portfolio review event by Indian Creative Women. Our incredible global jury gave constructive feedback to more than 80 Indian creative women. The participants didn’t just show good pieces in their book but they had unbelievable conviction in presenting the work. These women are now equipped with what they need to take the next step and will continue to tap into our network to make the most of it. I’m also elated for our winners, Rishanki and Dimple, who will get to experience the D&AD Festival in person, in London. Thanks to our sponsors Godrej and DDB. Indian Creative Women will continue to actively work towards giving Indian women visibility and balancing the gender ratio at leadership levels.”

A recent report by the Geena Davis Institute underscores the pressing need for better representation in advertising. The study found that only 10% of Indian ads feature women in professional roles, while 62% depict them as homemakers—a reflection of the industry’s gender imbalance.

Through initiatives like Portfolio Evening, ICW is actively bridging this gap by elevating emerging creative talent, fostering leadership opportunities, and advocating for meaningful change within India’s advertising landscape. With continued efforts from industry leaders, the future of Indian advertising is set to be more inclusive, diverse, and representative.
