RunnTV partners with eMedia Investments to launch Africa’s first independent FAST streaming platform
Share Share ShareShare

New Delhi: RunnTV, India’s fast-growing Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) platform, has announced the launch of Openview Stream, Africa’s first independent FAST streaming platform, in partnership with eMedia Investments. The move marks RunnTV’s strategic expansion into Africa, one of the world’s fastest-growing digital television markets.

Developed as an extension of the eMedia Investments portfolio, Openview Stream combines eMedia’s premium content library, established entertainment brands and understanding of African audiences with RunnTV’s streaming technology and FAST platform expertise. The platform aims to deliver a free, ad-supported streaming experience featuring a blend of regional programming and international FAST channels.

Openview Stream is now available across Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Mauritius in its first phase, with plans to expand into additional African markets over the coming months.

The companies said the launch comes at a time when Africa is witnessing rapid growth in smart TV adoption, broadband connectivity and digital video consumption, creating significant opportunities for free streaming services. Openview Stream aims to build a sustainable ecosystem for viewers, broadcasters, advertisers and content owners through an accessible, ad-funded model.

The platform also seeks to strengthen digital distribution for African broadcasters and content creators by enabling them to extend their reach across mobile devices and Connected TVs while creating new advertising revenue opportunities through long-term partnerships.

Designed around regional relevance and premium entertainment, Openview Stream will offer a curated mix of African and international channels while remaining free for consumers.

Manish Sinha

Commenting on the launch, Manish Sinha, Founder & CEO of RunnTV, said, “Africa is one of the most exciting growth markets for the future of television, and Openview Stream has been built with that opportunity in mind. Our focus is to support a locally relevant, high-quality FAST experience that gives viewers access to compelling channels while helping African broadcasters and content owners extend their reach across mobile and Connected TV. eMedia Investments brings deep audience insight, strong media brands and local market expertise, making them the ideal partner as we help scale Openview Stream across the continent.”

Khalik Sheriff, Group CEO, eMedia Investments, added, “The television industry across Africa is entering a new era as audiences increasingly embrace connected and streaming experiences. Openview Stream is an important step in that evolution, combining African storytelling, trusted entertainment and subscription-free access in one digital destination. Through our partnership with RunnTV, we are pairing eMedia Investments’ local market expertise with proven FAST technology to create new opportunities for broadcasters, creators and advertisers while giving viewers across the continent access to quality television.”

Looking ahead, the companies plan to expand Openview Stream’s channel portfolio, content partnerships and geographic footprint across Africa. Backed by eMedia Investments’ regional media expertise and RunnTV’s FAST technology capabilities, the platform aims to establish itself as a leading independent ad-supported streaming destination, connecting African audiences with regional broadcasters, creators and global entertainment brands through a single digital platform.
