South GECs WK 35: Flowers TV secures the 2nd spot in Malayalam market; Zee Kannada leads the Kannada market

South GECs WK 38: Sun TV leads Tamil market; Star Suvarna achieves 2nd spot in Kannada market

According to BARC Ratings of South GEC for week 35, following are the ranking of various Regional GECs.

Malayalam:

Asianet has been a consistent performer and a leader in the Malayalam category. The channel in week 34 had garnered a total of 263 mn impressions, which in week 35 grew by 46mn to 309mn. Next on the chart is Flowers TV with 178mn impressions. The 3rd spot is secured by Surya TV with 122mn impressions. The last two spots consist of Mazhavil Manorama and Zee Keralam with 97mn impressions and 72mn impressions respectively.

Tamil:

In week 35 of BARC India’s TV rating data there are no changes in the pecking order in the TAMIL GEC category. Sun TV leads the Tamil – All Platform Top 5 channels category with 835mn impressions. In week 34 Sun TV had 871mn impressions which is a straight fall of 36MN impressions. In week 35 Zee Tamil follows Sun TV with 467mn impressions. Star Vijay follows with 448mn impressions, and the last two spots are secured by KTV with 290mn impressions and Star Vijay Super with 135mn impressions.

Telugu:

In the Telegu market, Star Maa leads the All Platform Top 5 channels category with 692mn impressions followed by ETV Telugu with 560mn impressions. ZEE Telugu secures the 3rd spot with 531mn impressions while Gemini TV in week 34 had garnered 339 impressions, it has in this week garnered a total of 374mn impressions, growing by 35 mn impressions. Lastly, Star Maa Movies in week 35 has garnered 217mn impressions.

Kannada:

With the undisputed leader Zee Kannada leading the Kannada GEC category with 416mn impressions followed by Udaya TV on the 2nd spot with 274mn impressions. For the last 3 spots, we have Colors Kannada with 255mn impressions, Star Suvarna with 247mn impressions and Udaya Movies with 168mn impressions.
