Mumbai: Ugaoo has announced beloved actor and pop culture icon Jackie Shroff as its brand ambassador. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for Ugaoo as it transitions from a green brand adored by urban audiences to a cultural mainstay across India’s Tier 2 and 3 cities.

Over the past decade, Ugaoo has played a transformative role in shaping how Indians perceive and interact with nature in their everyday lives. Through a strong content-first strategy, the brand has fostered a plant-loving community by making gardening less intimidating and more joyful. Houseplants are no longer just décor for Ugaoo customers — they are companions, symbols of personal growth, and tools for emotional expression.

As the brand expands deeper into Bharat, Ugaoo sought a figure who could bridge cultural and generational divides. Jackie Shroff, known for his earthy authenticity, irreverent charm, and lifelong passion for plants, was a natural fit. From turning up at events with a spider plant around his neck to tending his own organic farm, his bond with nature is personal and enduring.

Jackie’s debut as brand ambassador is marked by a high-impact campaign film, conceptualised by Thought Over Design and produced by Cathect Studios. The ad opens on a dramatic note with a distraught plant parent mourning her wilted Alocasia, only for Jackie to step in with his signature charm, ordering a fresh one from Ugaoo. It closes with the memorable line, “Ugaoo, Bhidu, Ugaoo,” blending humour, heart, and horticulture.

Speaking about the association, Jackie Shroff said, “Plants aren’t just decor; they’re companions, therapy, and a connection to life. Putting my hands in the soil brings me peace. Associating with Ugaoo is a no-brainer; they’re spreading a green movement across India. Together, we’re nurturing a generation that values nature. I’m glad to be a part of this mission, inspiring others to live rooted and connected.”

This partnership is more than a celebrity endorsement — it reflects Ugaoo’s mission to embed plants into India’s cultural fabric. The brand is also tapping into the growing trend of plant gifting as a thoughtful, sustainable alternative to conventional presents like flowers and chocolates. Whether as an apology, a celebration of friendship, or a housewarming gift, Ugaoo positions plants as living symbols of care, growth, and connection.

With over one million customers and a growing footprint across e-commerce, q-commerce, and offline stores in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru, Ugaoo is set for significant scale.
